Sixteen schools from around the northern part of the island are expected to participate in the Northern Schools Rally scheduled for the Benjamin’s Park in Portsmouth this morning (Wednesday).
Mayor of Portsmouth, Cleve St. Jean, says several secondary and primary school students who have excelled in various fields will be awarded.
“The students will display their marching skills and show recognition to their country. It will be an event also geared at recognizing their efforts. We will also give awards for leadership, sports and educational achievements,” he said.
According to the mayor it is important to award the youth at an early age.
