NYCD to host Executive Board inauguration ceremony

nycOn May 9th, the Executive Inauguration Ceremony of the incoming NYCD Executive Board 2015-2017 shall be hosted at the Fort Young Hotel commencing at 6:30 p.m.

The Council is elated to announce that the Guests of Honour at the Ceremony shall be, His Excellency the Mr. Charles A. Savarin President of the Commonwealth of Dominica and Mrs. Savarin.

Eight (8) members of the incoming NYCD Executive Board were elected at the NYCD General Assembly on August 20th, 2015. The Treasurer and General Secretary were appointed by the incoming executive. CARICOM Youth Ambassadors also serve on the NYCD Executive Board and are appointed by the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Constituency Empowerment with input from the NYCD.

To date the incoming Executive has developed an Institutional Strengthening Strategy (ISS), an Executive Agenda and a Work-Plan (2015-2017) which will guide the Councils work over the next eighteen months. Key pillars articulated in the Executive Agenda include, establishing an enterprise managed by the NYCD and ensuring that all eight (8) District Youth Councils are functional.

    How does one vote at these elections? Or get nominated for elections? I’ve never heard anything like submit names for elections or anything. Same set of people there for years. Aren’t there any other young person interested in being leaders or holding posts at groups such as these, from the sooo many youth groups on island?

    Every possible opportunity to increase Josiah’s image. Sounds like good politics, but makes people think that all he has been about for five plus years. Politics, politics, politics.will he still be able to do PR an NYC like he did senator and nyc

    An executive board of 14? They certainly have a bif opinion of themsleves. i don’t see any name on there that is not a DLP or govt. supporter. How representative is that?
