Outgoing NYC President says he is still involved in youth empowerment

Williams

Outgoing President of the National Youth Council (NYC) Delroy Williams says despite the fact that he was not re-elected, he is still very much involved in youth empowerment.

Williams lost his position after three years at the General Assembly of the NYC in Grand bay on Saturday.

He said he was under the strong impression that he would have been re-elected into office hence he had a number of plans in place.

“I will always cherish the three years that I was president. It was a worth it. It gave me a lot of insight into national development,” he said.

Williams said there are several areas he would like to see become a reality.

“I was always working up until the last minute and I want to see the publication of the Youth Magazine, the national youth parliament and the strengthening of the district councils. I am hoping that the new President push these things forward,” he said.

Areas of entrepreneurship and crime and violence have also been highlighted as some of the areas that Williams wants to see progress in.

Williams is still a member of the National Association of Youth in Agriculture and the current President/Chairman of the Dominica Youth Environment Organization

The new NYC President is former CARICOM Youth Ambassador Finnella Wenham.

I really liked Delroy as a youn gperson and he is a true leader. Probably the Father has other plans for you Delroy. With a lot of our youth troubled and otherwise , maybe you can infiltrate into the troubled areas and mentor them. You have the capability to do so. We need to snatch them from the lion’s mouth. They need role models to look up to. Pray about this and our Father will direct your path. You did a god job now it is time to move on. There is a season for everything. Young lady taking over congratulations to you and your team. Put God first in all you do and you will be sucessfull. Seek him and develop a relatiosnhip with him. He is the only one who will give wisdom in this troubled time.

    Delroy love,

you should have never engaged in the opposition madness about Votor ID vs National ID cards…strongly believe this is what threw you over..

I have always admired you as a leader, i know you can do the job, but you should have never given ear to the opposition madness.. i’m sure Kelva Darroux taught you better.

    Regards

REALLY,don’t let them use you or even try to confuse you ,you’ve got a mind of your own so go to hell if what they think they are saying right.true love will never leave you alone ,whats in the darkness must come out of light.the beauty of freedom is being able to be true to yourself and express yourself whenever ,wherever, however ,with whoever.

utter rubbish. Delroy never once picked any side on this matter. He simply in a very diplomatic way, stated what he felt. If that was the reason for his not being re-elected, then politics really killing Dominica, as people we need to rise above politics and stand for the issues. As a young woman from DA Delroy, I am very pleased with your accomplishments. Job well done. To the newly elected President, all the best and congratulation.
