Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit paid an informal visit to the Dominica State College (DSC) on November 25, 2010.
Skerrit, a former lecturer at the college, took time out to visit DSC President Dr. Donald Peters, faculty, staff and students, and participated in a social science class in which students were debating “The Pros and Cons of Universal Tertiary Education in the Future”. The discussion was led by students Saryta Akpa, Larissa Riviere, Michael Paul, Peterson Davis, Shanelle Walsh and Jasmine Jackson.
The prime minister was impressed with the level of maturity and research initiative manifested by the students and gave them an insight into the history of the establishment of the Dominica State College in which he played a major role in 2000 as minister for education.
The students thanked him for making time to visit with them, a sentiment which was endorsed by staff, faculty and President Peters.
Like seriously… why does DNO post these stupid comments by these baboons.. All the article said was the pm visited the college, folks posting all kinds of comments that has no relevance.. Commeeeee on dominicans stop showing the world how ignorant you guys are. Everything is not political. sheezzz louiseeeee… Grow up pleaseee.. Presidents, ministers, prime ministers governors etc visit school etc so what is the big deal? When the pm don’t interact with the public ya’ll venting oh he is not reaching out to the youth when he does it ya’ll backing. Everything is not about politics so wake up and smell the coffee and stop acting a fool already.. stuppessssss
Very good gesture Mr. Prime MInister. I do hope the plans for the expansion of the state college is well on stream, and the LIBRARY? That institution of higher learning needs a proper research library.
Skerrit: One step forward And 3 steps backward.
“Hey I got an idea, since I don’t have anything doing today, why not take a trip to the DSC to impress some students with my presence. That way they can feel better about myself.”
I’m just playing.
WHO THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE? I GUESS YOU WERE THE ONES HIDING IN THE SCHOOL CELLARS WHEN EVERYONE ELSE WAS IN CLASS GETTING AN EDUCATION IN ORDER TO BE SOMETHING.
“that charlo put me in hot water,,,having to defend his stupid statement,,,,look isidore in fyah now where can i go,,,,i can’t stay in that old rickety white house,,,i can’t wait for the palace i’m gonna build cuz i know my acolytes will vote me for the next 25 yrs,,,oohhh lemme head to the state college to get some fresh acolytes”
obviously u did not attend the college, you have been outshoned.
I hope the PM picked up a few debating techniques since DLP campaign strategists have been shielding Skerrit from any debates. The PM of a country cannot even stand on his own in a one and one debate?
Mr. mouth of the south, no offence; but the past tense of ‘outshine’ is not ‘outshined’.
well last i check i got a 1 in english cxc,,,a g.p.a of 3.50 in language n communication from d.s.c,,,,so i can speak n write proper english,,,,but this is d.n.o i’m not in class so doh cum dere checking for typo n grammatical errors,,,,
**NOC*>>No One Cares
yah mr skerrit was so impressed he did not give an opinion on the discussion cause he did not want to be outshined by such intelligent youths,,,where 80% of them will travel to first world countries n seek better life,,,,brain drain again,,,,all dominica do is breed the brightest n send dem go (my brother was in the class)
Mouth of the South is really talking from the South…The southern part of his body
You need to be in a class!
your brother needs to help you.
guess you wanted the world to know that your brother is at DSC.
