St. Martin Secondary organises Open Day/Exhibition

The St Martin Secondary School is organising its Open Day/Exhibition carded for Wednesday June 1st-Thursday 2nd, 2011.  The activity which has been dubbed “Learning in Action” will be held at the School’s Auditorium from 9:00a.m-3:00p.m. each day.

The St. Martin Secondary School offers quality secondary education to young girls, and is well known for the discipline and sound moral values which it seeks to instil in its students.  In keeping with its motto, “Growth and Development in Christ”, the school’s open day/exhibition will provide a forum for students to showcase their skills, knowledge and talent in various domains.

It is hoped that this will foster a greater appreciation and pride among the students, in respect to their education at SMSS. Additionally, in recognition of International Year of the Youth, the event will seek to celebrate our nation’s youth, and also to disperse many of the negative notions surrounding them.

The public is therefore invited to be part of this grand affair which will comprise 6 sub categories:

1-Visual Arts
2- Science, Business and Technology
3-Social Interaction
4-Home Economics
5- School History
6- Performing Arts

they still teaching kids how to cook and make bed? please its 2011 this school is a hell hole for young women. Why don’t you guys teach biology, physics, chemistry etc etc. Give these girls some option. sac-way wicked!

Do you think that they dont teach these? What about those students who cannot grasp physics bio & Chem? Should they throw them out? No… so another viable option is necessary. Next thiing you have a set of young girls out of high school without a basic education, and nothing to all back on, like cooking. By the way do you know what chefs make? You are so small minded.

u are so correct excited. its not always about the bio, chem or physics somtiimes the jobs we get dont even need those things… is the simple things that some of us were never taught by our parents that we need. i am glad there is a school out there that can teach these things .. and i am sure happy to say that i was part of that.
