Dominicans studying at the Wuhan University in China have participated in the 8th Wuhan Luojia International Cultural Festival which was held under the theme “Diversity and Harmony: Interaction and Integration.”
The exposition is held annually for international students to explore, expose and let the wider university community know about the differences in the culture of various countries.
Speaking for the Dominican students at the institution, Cassius Darroux, said the island was presented at the event as a “God-blessed nature isle with prestigious eco-friendly sightseeing places to harness the best of what nature has to offer in terms of wellness.”
“We had the opportunity to showcase our culture with the little resources that we had,” he told Dominica News Online.
Darroux said various companies in Dominica were approached for support by donating local products but all pleas fell on deaf ears. “Since it’s an annual event we are kindly asking the Dominican corporate community to come forward to help us as students to promote our country to the rest of the world,” he said.
Darroux noted that the Dominican students are looking forward to next year’s event since a solid foundation had been set and there is now a demand for products from two well-known Dominican business places in the city of Wuhan. “We will withhold the names (of the business places) because they did not even acknowledge our call for the promotion of their product for which there is a viable market,” he pointed out.
He has made an appeal to Dominican companies to contribute to next year’s festival since, according to him, there is a market for Dominican products in China.
Any company interested should email Darroux at [email protected]

can’t believe it. wow . i know this guy at college. very intelligent
wow! can’t believe it. he
Darroux, you are being unreasonably petty about withholding the local companies to those interested Chinese business man. You would be doing the local economy a service by helping bring two or more foreign business together – your attitude is killing potential foreign investment- which is sorely needed on the local business scene. It is themed interaction and integration
Typical Dominican tit-for-tat attitude.
Dude, move away from that small-island, 3rd-world mentality, take the higher road, and in spite of their (sic) ignoring your call for some local art and crafts contribution, show the younger Dominicans that traveling so far to pursue higher education is really a life changing experience.
Yes you are right but do you think when you put all your effort to get things done with the little resources that you receive from students contribution its reasonable to just give it away to those company who don’t care about wether they servive or not? would you spend money for promoting your country and at the end of the day for a private company to benefit? You should be the one standing for almost 9 hours without any pay here to represent Dominica in a weather of 4degrees celcius representing. think of it my friend. Yes i am petty but with reason

Nice work promoting DA…but pls pls pls get a “true” Dominican Flag nex year….ask the Ministry of Community Development to send u all a flag…the one u hve is not a true representation of the Dominican flag – our parrot does not hv green feathers on its breast! And while re at it, please do not encourage the production of those flags by buying them…let the Chines know that this is not ur flag!
Nicely put, but bear in mind, when you go to purchase one from the ministry, you get the same CRAP flag.
yes Mr Darroux well said…couldn’t have said it better myself.
