Teachers salary offers, contract conditions to come up at DAT meeting

The Dominica Association of Teachers expects to focus on matters relating to the proposed 2009/2010 salary offers and terms of employment by Government at a meeting on Thursday.

Public Relations Officer of the Dominica Association of Teachers Francis Jno Lewis said aspects of the current audit will also be discussed.

He said permission has been granted by the Ministry of Education for all teachers to attend the meeting which is carded for the Convent High School Auditorium at 2 p.m.

“The main aspect is the discussions which will come as a result of the current audit being proposed for the Public Service, including all teachers,” he said.

Jno Lewis noted that the current status of all teachers, the positions available and what needs to be done to make the service more efficient willbe explored as well.

“We anticipate that all teachers, not just those who are members of the organization,” he added.

    i am not a teacher but i certainly their salaries should be increased. the work is great but reward is few. plz mr. P.M they’re crying out for help.
