Assistant Chief Education Officer, Jeffrey Blaize has called on principals to make proper use of the skills and talents of teachers on the island since they are being underutilized.
He said human resources must be maximized in schools.
“I recognize that there are many teachers whose skills sets and talents are underutilized within our schools,” he said recently. “Principals conduct proper human resource inventories, ensure that you recognize the worth and competence of our teachers and ensure that in deployment will maximize the resources that are available to us at schools.”
According to Blaize there are teachers with tremendous skills in particular areas that are not being utilized.
“And this year I really want the supervisory and support staff to pay close eye to maximize in deployment of teachers both at the primary and secondary schools to ensure that the investment that government is making in professional growth and development is put to use within our school system.”
“We really want to change our mode of operation to ensure that we improve the sort of quality that we really want at our schools,” Blaize added.
how mister end up in that position
why not talk about he friendship club that you all are developing in the ministry of education……..putting square pegs in wrong holes………the children’s blood are upon all u shoulders.
What specific skills are under utilized. Be specific! The principal should ensure that the ethos of the school is excellent. The delivery and execution of each lesson in or out the classroom setting inspires the students so that they develop an insatiable appetite for knowledge. Mr. Blaze, pinpoint the skills you are referring to otherwise you are talking but saying nothing.
But wait….all these skills I possess government interested in paying for the extra?
My friend pay the teachers properly, and they will be encouraged/motivated to do everything.Slave masters you all are. Most,if not all teachers work harder that you all, whose only fame is talk,talk,talk,..Appoint those who deserve appointment, and the teachers will be motivated to work.By the way why cant you all try to attract more males into the service? Are you all that blind?SHAME ON YOU ALL! I thought is only Skerrit that was blind!!!
I want to agree with Dr. Blaize, I hope principals take heed.
Jeffery, I am sorry to point this out; however, you are talking nonsense when you say the skills of teachers are underutilized.
When talking about teaching skills, that can only be expressed as one capable of teaching different disciplines: i. e. some teachers are capable of teaching, English, Math, which may include physics, trigonometry, chemistry, and other levels.
Some may only be capable of teaching a single subject, besides they are supposed to be teaching from a prepared curriculum, which they cannot go beyond.
You give them a prepared curriculum to teach from, as long as they follow the curriculum, you have no argument. Shut up, if you have nothing to say!
