Thirty teachers from both primary and secondary schools on the island will receive training in the area of effective instructional practices for students with special needs and those experiencing problems in the classrooms.
The week long training which gets underway this morning is as a result of a partnership between Dominica and Lynchburg College in Virginia.
During the week, teachers will cover topics such as characteristics of children needing special education, literacy and numeracy strategies, curriculum adaptation, and differentiation among others.
The workshop will commence at 8:30 at the Public Service Training Center.
