Youth Minister describes ‘Charlie Charlie Challenge’ as demonic

The game has taken the internet by storm

Youth Minister, Justina Charles, has cautioned young people against playing the ‘Charlie Charlie Challenge’ game that is being circulated on social media, saying it is ‘demonic’ in nature.

“It is said to be affecting the behavior of those who participate,” she said at the 10th Annual National Youth Awards held at the Dominica State College (DSC) Auditorium on Saturday.

According to her students have been sent home from school at a time when they should be busy preparing or writing their exams.

“And so I want to speak to you, young people to use the social media for positive growth and positive movement, not to distract you or to allow you to reverse in your development,” she advised.

She said the game is “serious.”

“It is said to be demonic and I want to admonish you to refrain from participating in this as we openly condemn that activity,” she said.

Last week Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Helen Royer, said the ministry is concerned “especially with the medical conditions which are allegedly associated” with the Charlie Charlie Challenge.

She also described it as evil and demonic.

The game has already been banned in some Caribbean islands.

The Charlie Charlie Challenge is described as an ‘Ouija Board-inspired game,’ allegedly based on ancient Mexican tradition, used to summon a demon named ‘Charlie.’

I have no idea how can someone believe in this day and age that the charlie charlie game is demonic, but there are dangerous games out there that are done by weak and stupid people such as ,,,,the neck nomination which is a competetion to drink the most alcohol which can lead to death, cirrhosis ,scare or liver damage ,not only you can kill yourself but others also..boston blizzard puting the head down in snow results to hypothermia and frostebite, lip plumping, sucking a small glass to get big lips then it swells up,swallow cinnamon powder leads to coughing vomiting,or collapse, pupi eating hot chilli peper ,severe inflammation ,putting fire on the body,72 to dissapear for days leads to anxiousness to family ,choking lack of oxegen or brain damage …all these stupid games can lead to death, any one who encourages a child or someone with special needs to take part to do these silly things should be punished ..not only kids try that but grown ups also, adults should be punished by law.STOP

As a person who is well informed pertaining to the products of the Mind–by the teachings, discipline, and training, of Holy Spirit from my conscience, I have to say that this situation is not so much about the physical paper/pencil/Charlie feature of that game, but it is the effect, which the participation or practice has on the mind–which as I am reading is an ugly or downright evil effect.

Why children especially? They are too young to discern the path by which a seed is sowed on the ground of their mind and to decide what to do with that seed–to allow or disallow its production.

Those who humoring the concept of demons, are just are just like the “fools who say there is no God” For they are saying that there is no Satan–the Devil, who is the father of demons in this world.

    • June 1, 2015

The idea of the game is to provoke the mind to allow the “demon spirit” to enter on its ground–the reaction is revealed through the human senses–whatever is the product of that demon in the mind.

Demons can be compared with Angels, who are also Spirit in Nature; the difference is that Angels do God’s work of Love in and among us–as they take control our mind directly or indirectly.

Demons, on the other hand, do the work of their father the devil–they also take control of our minds directly or indirectly, based on the condition of the mind–carnal. or innocent–such as the children who play that game. And so however that game evolved it came from a demon filled individual–there is no doubt about this.

The question is, how are we supposed to prepare our children about this issue, without further influencing their thoughts, that is the difficult part. And so let us pray for God’s guidance in dealing with that terrible thing–in Jesus name; Amen!

It’s a good thing that the youth minister gave this warning to the youth, and I pray that those who hear the warning will take heed to it. The devil comes to kill and destroy. What we may think as science is not for satan. It may seem like a simple game, but principalities, powers rulers of darkness are not simple.

There are people who have been involved in witchcraft and gave their testimonies of deliverance and they would tell you the things that happen in the spirit world. Today on charisma magazine the same story was posted, and gave as a warning to those who try that game charlie charlie, and some of the experiences that some people had.

I would advise the young people don’t go into things that you don’t know the full knowledge, going into a world that they may not be able to handle. Thumbs down is just fine, it’s not the purpose of this comment, but I pray that the message goes through. I have been kicked out by dno and hopefully this time they wont kick me out.

    • June 4, 2015

      Marichil:

I agree with your comment. It is scriptural, sane, and sensible.

DNO will probably throw me out before they throw you out. So just keep writing those comments. I won’t always be around so you stay on the firing line!

The problem is people fear what they do not understand. Then they mock what they fear so others will not know they fear it.

These are the people who make a joke of a deeper reality in the hope that others will laugh with them while knowledgeable people pity them. Their lack of objectivity makes it impossible to reason with them.
They have no facts on their side and consequently no terms of reference so an intelligent debate is out of the question.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

It’s a sad day when anyone in a position of authority in the 21st century can seriusly claim a childish game is ‘demonic.’ Why not learn–and teach students–the science behind the game? The psychology of presupposed beliefs, the influence of gravity and forces on objects, even quantum mechanics? The true story of these games, like Ouija boards and whatever else, is one of human psychology and science at work in fascinating ways, and why not use this as an opportunity to teach rather than leaving your intellect and curiosity at the door by just saying something is ‘demonic’ and must be banned? Come on, d/cans. Give me some hope for this place (and the rest of the Caribbean, since other islands are also playing into this foolishness, making us a laughingstock of the developed world).

Very good points, Gabby. This is a great opportunity for the science teachers in our schools to set up test and control groups of students to play this game to demonstrate the scientific method in investigating causation and testing hypotheses, e.g., to demonstrate to their students that calling Charlie, or saying goodbye to Charlie, has absolutely no effect on any movement of the pencils. Instead, I suspect that many of these teachers are as trapped in superstition as our politicians and so-called leaders.

    • June 1, 2015

Those who mock this news article and the concerns of those who are warning against the ‘Charlie Charlie Challenge’ are fools.

The warnings are not coming from uneducated Dominicans saddled with superstition who are living in the dark ages. They are coming from well educated people who in some cases are experienced in the field of the paranormal.

Today we heard from Youth Minister Justina Charles, and last week from Permanent Secretary of Health Helen Royer.

There have been several warnings from the Vatican against the ‘Charlie Charlie Challenge’ including one from the Spanish priest Jose Antonio Fortea, their leading exorcist who holds a Ph.D. in exorcism. I am a Pentecostal Evangelist with a deliverance ministry and have taught in Bible Colleges, but I can tell you I have learned from this man’s work.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill, D.D. International Evangelist.

There is no natural science behind the results produced by the Charlie Charlie Challenge. If there is any science behind the game it is metaphysics which means beyond physics.

One of the yardsticks in science is that it must be possible to repeat the experiment and get the same results. This has happened in other Caribbean nations and beyond. The fact that some of the participants had not heard of those in other places and knew nothing of their bad results rules out copy-cat behavior. In the case of kids in various schools it seems obvious they were not play acting. Some of the children were terrified. They ran home screaming, some claiming they saw objects rise and move through the air.

Charlie never produces anything good or beneficial. The results are always basically the same.
They are occult like in nature and produce fear creating emotional and physical symptoms. Some changes in personality have been reported with violent behavior.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill…

A Ph.D. in exorcism!!! What next? It’s in the interest of all those who (falsely) claim to provide the keys to salvation to stir up fear and hysteria about “demons” so that they gain more power over the frightened masses.

I think there should be an inquisition into this demonic use of paper and pencils and speaking name Charlie out loud should be completely banned from the island. I would encourage parents of children who may have succumbed to the satanic nature of this evil abuse of stationery to engage the services of an exorcist without delay.

What! So people named Charlie cah say their own name now? Boy, you taking this madness too far, eh. Slow down and try to think of other rational explanations for the CC game. Just because something seems unusual or otherworldly at first does not mean it is; it may have a simple, or complex, scientific explanation behind it.

Gabby after your most rationale explanation I thought you would have found the humor in what smiff had to say, which most people did not. Sadly concepts of prose, metaphors and satire are not in everyday communication except when is kaiso season.

Drug addiction, child sexual abuse, stealing, lying compulsively, dishonesty…… and all related activity is also of the devil hence demonic. Devil cannot touch you if your spiritual and moral defense is strong. He will only enter if there are holes and weakness. Reading the news lately our spiritual defense is a fishnet for dolphins. We are lost from bishop down to vagrant.

The Government should stay out of this and concentrate on government issues.

The Internet is free and should remain so. Adults should be free to do as they please as long as it not illegal.

It is up to parents, not any Government Official, to monitor and control their underaged children’s use of the Internet.

    • The Real Facts
      June 1, 2015

Yes! In this case the government should allow them to hang themselves. What would you then say of the government?

      • June 4, 2015

I said it before when Alkaline was coming.

        I will say it again.

The government of a nation and certainly the elected head of that government has not only a right but also a responsibility to stop (if they can) anything from entering the country that could be harmful to the people especially the youth.

In the case of Charlie you have had a protest from both the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Health. This is an issue of world wide interest and the concerns are held by many others both inside and outside Dominica.

If your government officials did not caution you based on the best information available they would not be doing their job.

I have been closer to ”the dark side” than most of you would want to be. I know the power of Satan  is real. I also know Christ defeated him on the cross. Today I stand complete in HIS victory. See Colossians 2:11-15.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

    • June 2, 2015

What you are saying is ”Leave the door wide open for ”Charlie… ”

Of course people should be able to do what they please as long as it is legal. The point is some things should NOT be legal.

For adults to bring an evil entity into their home that can harm others – especially children –
is wrong. This may be a form of child abuse and the legality of it should be looked into. Your children are your most precious possessions.

Parents should be monitoring what their children are getting on the internet. If possible the government should block the Charlie Charlie Challenge from being received in the country. I do not know if this can be done.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist. http://www.livinghopeministries.ca

Yes, it is the responsibility of parents to control what underaged children watch on the internet. Why are they not doing it :?:
