32 calypsonians to do battle in 2016 Quarterfinal

Thirty-two calypsonians will take to the stage tonight to compete in the 2016 Calypso Quarter Final competition .

They are Prosper, Beno, Chris B, Alisha, Shadow Flow, Sting Ray, Sye, Jerd, Vigilante, Checker, Young Bull, Hardline, Boople, Observer, Charis D, De Bobb, Superior Picky, Janae, Daddy Chess, Earl White Jr., Black Diamond, Lugars, Soul Puss, Raheem, Dice, Jay Dee, De Oxygen, Jama B, Checko, Explosion and Comforter.

Twenty calypsonians will be selected to advance to the semi- final round of the competition carded for January 23.

President of the Dominica Calypso Association, Deryck ‘Hunter’ St Rose told Dominica News Online (DNO) that things are set for tonight and calypsonians are confident.

“Things are looking up and everybody is ready and excited,” he said. “The band is well rehearsed, the artistes are confident.”

According to him the show will include three guest performances by Sheldon “De Professor” Alfred, Shirley “Lady S”  Charles and Narrin “Trendsetter” Murphy.

The show will be held at the Newtown Savannah from 8:30pm.

The entrance fee $30.
