A new winner has been crowned in the 3rd annual National Co-operative Credit Union (NCCU) Cadence Lypso competition held at the Windsor Park forecourt on October 19, 2014.
Fire officer Anton “White Fayrie” Joseph of Grand Fond with his rendition “Pas Kite Mwen” dethroned the 2013 winner Cletus “Halibut” Joseph.
Coming in second place was Ramadine “Kalfa P” Phillip and in 3rd spot was 2012 winner, Webster “De Webb” Marie.
15 participants took part in the NCCU Cadence Lypso competition.
In the band competition, which was introduced for the first time in the three year history of the event, 1st Serenade Band of Pointe Michel copped the top spot followed by Xtacy and WCK Band.
Big up my boi Anton.. Congratulations. From the time I heard your song even before u performed it I told them fellas you must win. (Mahaut Massive). Well WCK I really dont know what is happening to the band right now but you guys made the effort. Am not hating because I love bouyon music. To be honest, my only problem is that I believe you guys need to stop playing all these old school tracks and start coming together as a band and start making new tracks. These old school tracks which I believe people tired hear them things. Start making some real new bouyon tracks. I personally dont like hearing Clint voice anymore.. He sounds old school. But Delly you are the man for the band. Don’t let people bring the band down. Prove them wrong.
Xtasy band came out and gave a splendid performance and a lot of people were impressed even my colleagues from overseas and I want them to come over to headline at out festival next year!!!! What a show, they put on and in my opinion, they should have won!
Oh I forgot, congrats to exstacy. You guys are a tremendous compa band. Right now DA looks bright with First Serenade and you guys.
Great job first serenade. I havent enjoyed myself like i did on Saturday night in a long time. I had given up DA entertainment scence cause I was tired of the noise,but man you all giving me a new reason to go out. My pepes and I enjoyed it. Great delivery, originality, music wow performance. You all are a breath of fresh air. When is the next performance? Will you all be doing a guest performance at creole fest, that would be nice…..and in the same out fit please. Am waiting to hear before I purchase my tickets. Big up also to Anton and kalfa, to nccu for such a great show. Yeah the prospect of going out again, looks good. Satisefied patrón.
Big up and congrats to the first Serenade band but mostly I just want to send a special big up and congrats to the bands lead singer – Llody. Loldy, you are an inspiration to any young person intending to enter into the entertainment business. You put your heart and your soul in what you do. In any other country you would be a big time star. You are not respected in Dominica, but remember a king is never honored in his own kingdom. So keep doing what you are doing and put the Lord first and the rest will come in time. Congrats my boy!
i want to complement the band and members of the first serenade band.this was a very good showing of yourselves. you all placed the M into music again. for the persons who do not think that serenade was no good ,look again. that was good and true representation.

WCK was pure embarrassment. As the pioneer of bouyon music their performance left a lot to be desired. Their engineer needs to learn that loud is not sweet. His mix was a pain to the ear. Big up Serenade well deserve
This is what Dominicans considers one of their best, well well we really in a sad state. Anyways WCK better than triple k, and triple k is considered Dominica´s top and best band. Well well this just shows that the poeple that think they know about music don´t know a flyind ar….. We must not mistake popularity with best, we must understand the percentage of our poeple that know nothing or very Little of music and hence you will understand why triple k is OUR NUMBER ONE BAND. Its a bloody shame.

Mr. Ducreay this cadencelypso competition is another outstanding brain child of yours. I applaud you sir. Keep up the good work. If it wasn’t for you, Nccu would never be so prestigious. It would have never been the Nccu you have elevated Rccu to make it this unsurpassed institution. And for that we give you many thanks and all your flowers before you die
I concur with you. Mr Ducreay is the best thing that ever happen to NCCU. But why they change de president na? Internal politics I guess.
Congrats to u guys. I’m glad that u made it. When I listened to Halibut’s rendition , I said that song wasn’t going now here as the tune sounds like previous in the past, same tone, same lyrics and same melody. I said that he should come better than that,
