Mira Entertainment this afternoon officially launched the latest edition of its ‘Classics Concert Series’, the upcoming Barrington Levy Classic Concert carded for July 30th 2011.

The launch was held at the headquarters of chief sponsor Digicel.

The concert will feature International Recording Dancehall/Reggae Artist Barrington Levy, the man behind hits like “Too Experienced” and “Everybody Must Work” and will be held at Krazy Koconuts.

Managing Director of Mira Entertainment, Miguel ‘Doctor’ Labadie said that the event targets the more mature party patrons in Dominica.

“The adult patrons were sometimes being neglected, apart from the usual calypso shows that they get during the season, one or two at Creole Festival and [a few] plays, they were sort of being left in the dark. And I felt the need to cater to the mature patrons and invite on an annual basis, an artist who has earned legendary and iconic status,” Labadie said.

Representing Digicel, in her capacity as Marketing Executive, Calvia Timothy believes that the telecommunications company’s partnering with Mira Entertainment will be on that will be a great success, in keeping with the trend of past such partnerships.

Timothy admits, “Today, We at Digicel are very pleased to partner with Mira Entertainment to put together an exciting show. Previously, we have partnered with [them] to bring to you the Eric Donaldson show, which has proven to be a huge success to those who attended. Digicel is quite pleased to come on board with events such as these.”

Timothy joined Labadie and l’Express des Iles, another sponsor of the event, in encouraging patrons to purchase tickets in advance for the show. l’Express des Iles also offers a prize, a complimentary trip for two to any of the destinations it travels to, for a lucky patron who purchases an early ticket.

Mira Entertainment is a local entertainment company specializing in themed events.

big up to you dr miguel. you’ve definately been doing a great job thus far and i wish you the best for the upcoming barrington levy.

we should all know that the first eric donaldson which was organised by you was superb. it was the second however which was done by another promoter needing the fixing up…get that straight ppl.

there’ll always be the pessimists with their ridiculing but believe it or not it’ll make you and your team stronger. you will always have the support of many as you cater for all genres and that sort of entertainment is hard to find.

    Big up dr miguel!!

I really donn understand Dominica in any way. Dominica has no money! Dominicans always crying broke too. Yet every month they have an artist or a few artists that come in and rake the little money that should stay in the country to help the economy away. Nobody comes to Dominica for these thing apart from creole festival and carnival. So that means for 10 months out of 12 in a year, money is leaving the country rather than coming in. Nice!

    ya dj mig.
thats good to hear. but remember alot of things always goes wrong on the night of the show, mainly with the soud systems. it would be good if u would get all artists to do a sound check before the show so in that case the sound can be adjusted before the performance and not when the artist is half way through his act resulting in interuption where he has to be shouting wheel out like the last eric donaldson show. in my view the first eric show was a good one but the second one was not of good quality. im a dj like u so i know the flow.any way i wish u luck on the levy show and i wont be there because some one told me that the WORLDis going to end about that time.
