Roseau, Dominica – October 31, 2014 – The twelfth annual LIME Creole in the Park which climaxed on Thursday is being described by LIME’s General Manager Jeffrey Baptiste as a success.
In his summation of the four day event, Mr. Baptiste had high praise for all stakeholders who made the event a successful one. “I am extremely pleased with the output from all involved” said the LIME General Manager. He continued, “The performers all contributed to another great staging of LIME’s CITP from the debut bands to the more established bands, all bringing their A-game to put on a great show for the patrons” said Mr. Baptiste. “Dominica’s culture was well represented through the various cultural presentations including steel pan, jing ping, drumming and through our indigenous Kalinago people” he noted.
The LIME General Manager also singled out LIME endorsed artiste Asa Bantan for his excellent job at representing the LIME brand. Of worthy mention is the performance of visiting soca artiste Skinny Fabulous who put on a stellar performance to climax day three of the event. The ‘evolution of Bouyon’ presentation left many wanting more, and before crowds, considered to be bigger than last year, the Bouyon Pioneers with lead singer Derrick Rah Peters rolled back the years with a repertoire packed with hit songs from over 20 years, putting the crowd in a frenzy as LIME once again gave the Dominican public and visiting patrons a real independence treat.
The LIME Creole in the Park described as the biggest daytime event during Dominica’s independence celebrations was held from Monday October 27th – Thursday October 30th, 2014. While the event remained in its traditional placement, it followed the World Creole Music Festival this year. LIME’s GM said while the change caused some minor logistical challenges for the company, it did not affect the actual staging of the event. “The crowds grow with every day and the last day saw a larger crowd attend the event when compared to last year. At the end, we were very pleased with the turnout overall”.
The LIME Creole in the Park is planned, organized and executed by LIME colleagues and Mr. Baptiste said he is very proud of his team for pulling off another successful LIME Creole in the Park. He is also grateful to all the partners, volunteers and all stakeholders for their contributions to this year’s event.
Boy, I must say that Creole In The Park looking more enjoyable now for the whole family than the World Creole Music Festival.
I never thought that could happen but you see, competition is a good thing and I’m sure the park thing is not costing us as much as the WCMF that is always making a loss.
I shook my legs under the pulsating music from the original WCK.
well I must say what another year again of a successful activity.yes it was good for lime to bring again the original wck on stage.for 2 concecqutive years, plenty plenty money is been bestowed to regroup a big band and again the former manager of the band the lime big bossputting so much money and not paying the other local band ,giving them peas and cheese.look at the out come of wck. what really happen to the current wck? as if I saw a differewnt bass man playing for the so called original creators of boyon.mr Baptist give us a report please.
you know what reaklly got to me again, lime sending for Rohie.for 2 years again we are looking.last year they wanted Rohie to perform and Rohie had so much to say as to who he want to play and the rest goes on.why was Rohie backed up by his former band? I understood that Rohie wanted a few of the passed members of serenade to back him up.after all those years Rohie has left dominica, has Rohie done anything to let him shine besides leaning on first serenade music?nothing new.why didn’t Rohie ask first serenade band which is much better than his time to back him up?is it because he still doesn’t get along with those guys?and rohies statement about first serenade, tell me did Rohie know what transpired at the ECMF? well well well.its a shame to hear Rohie and his negative statements about the first serenade band.he really needs to know whats happening before he goes out to make those statementswhat a shame on rehie for dis regarding his band for so many years.one day one day cancalley.pli tant pli twist.another waste of money by lime.was there an area for asa to perform ?give me a break about that .is that boyoun?jezzz. well rah and eric b and archie and carlty thanks for the creation of boyoun.what we have to day is utter rubbish.
And now LIME has increase the mobile and text fees without notifying the customers of the figures. If i was a decrease, they would have been quick to mention the word decrease. The increased rates should be publised on the newspapers, DNO, Marpin Sat, Radio etc. Though matter how small the increase, it is a big win for LIME and a big loss to the customers. Digi to Digi is 58c and now Lime to lime is 69c. Can you immagine that. Not even regular double top up Lime can give their customers, these days.
great job Lime the CITP was phenomium, I wont miss it from then on. a time of socializing of the internet, the TV and a time to meet old friends and make new ones. great turn out and thank God the weather gave us a good break. See you next year, with the triplet of WCK originallll
I enjoyed the Triple Kay with Nayee, Benji and Asa set ……..’nuff respect (x100%). Special heights to the keyboard players.. very creative…….
It was unfortunate that Rah and the WCK would once again denied their fans in the diaspora the opportunity to hear the songs that we grew up and supported over the years. They are wondering why Dominican bans and their music can’t go further this the reason why. We in the USA had a network on Thursday to sit, dance and listen to our pride and joy but our hearts were broken and with anger we have decided not to support them when they come to the USA for Labour Day. KEEP TURNING OFF YOUR AUDIO.
Support you all the way, slap in our face by these guys, thats why they are all broke, cutting each others neck over the years. That why the band still cant see eye to eye,Rah will be selling it soon.
