National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) spread the joyous spirit of Christmas in the town of Portsmouth and the village of Salybia.

NBD teamed up with the Portsmouth Town Council to host the annual Caroling and Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 11 at Boroughs Square. Patrons were serenaded by the beautiful sounds of the Music Lovers Government Band and several choirs and individuals from Portsmouth and environs. Patrons enjoyed the renditions of some popular Christmas songs.

Mayor of Portsmouth, Mr. Titus Francis, expressed his satisfaction with the event. He thanked the groups for organizing themselves and contributing to the event despite having been given short notice. Mr. Francis was also thankful to the Government Band and NBD for helping to usher in the Christmas spirit in the community.
On December 14, NBD hosted students of the Salybia and Sineku Primary schools at their annual Children’s Christmas Party.

The event was held at the Salybia Government Primary School and over two hundred children enjoyed an afternoon full of fun, food, music and gifts from Santa, every child’s dream for Christmas. In keeping with the spirit of giving at this time of year, NBD presented the schools with gift vouchers for purchasing books for their libraries.

Principal of the Salybia Government Primary School, Mrs. Lorna Lewis, was elated about NBD’s gesture. “We are happy that NBD chose our schools to host the party and we are thankful for your contribution,” she said.

Executive Manager Marketing & Product Management, Mrs. Suzanne Joseph-Piper was happy with the execution of both events. “As usual, we had a very good turnout at Portsmouth for the Caroling and it was great to share with the community. The Children’s Christmas party is one of the events that our staff looks forward to the most. We are always happy to bring joy to the Children and by extension their families and communities.

At NBD, we are unswerving in our commitment to to enhance the lives of the people in the communities we serve and we take every opportunity to play a part in their lives.”
