Citronier-born actress new movie to premiere in Dominica

Jno-Baptiste

Citronier-born Germina Jno-Baptiste new movie Hated 2 Death, which sold out to 4,000 people on the Jamaican South Coast at its Jamaican premiere on 2nd July 2011, will premier in Dominica at the end of December at the Arawak House of Culture.

“I am so excited that Dominica was chosen as the second country to commence the movie world tour.  Being the first Dominican to play a lead role on the big screen in a Jamaican movie, I think this is so exciting. This was a whole new adventure for me,” Jno-Baptiste said.

Collywood, the company that made the movie, is using the event to give its star actress a big push in her country as it’s well known and documented that Dominicans do support their own.

“Collywood will be looking to encourage other Dominicans to get involve on the acting side of the industry, and we want to see more Dominicans and other Caribbean people up there on the big screen telling their own stories just like Hated 2 Death”, Junior Hart, CEO of Collywood, said.

Historic moment for Citronier and Giraudel

“Hated 2 Death” is the first of five epic Jamaican movies to be released by Collywood. Its premiere in Dominica is described as a historic moment for the island as Hated 2 Death will start its world tour after its screening here.

The movie is the longest running ever made in Jamaica, which is just over two hours long and consists of three stories based on true life events. One of the main stories being the murder of two lesbians, Phoebe Myrie and Candice Williams,  brutally killed in 2006. This movie has had Jamaican audiences  glued to their seats as they watch this incredible story about hate and betrayal.

Jno-Baptiste will be touring all the Caribbean islands where she will be heading all the premieres. She will then be heading to Africa and then back into Europe and Canada, UK then USA being the final country where the cinematic tour will end. The company says, this cinematic premier tours will make Jn0-Baptiste a house hold name within the Caribbean movie market.

Information on the Dominican premiere will be released on the Collywood website www.Collywoodcinemas.com,

the point here is not the violent content in the movie, its a daughter of the soil getting a break on the acting scene, let us all hope that she get a even bigger break, should the movie get viewed by one of hollywoods top promoters.

When Hollywood release a film do you view the trailer and say thats to violent. If you think its not for you then you just don’t go and see the movie. AS BLACK PEOPLE WE HAVE TO CUT OUT THIS NEGATIVE NONESENSE WHEN ONE OF OUR OWN IS STEPPING UP. YOU EITHER LIKE IT OR YOU DON’T. STOP TRYING TOBLOW HOLES AND FIND FAULTS IN THINGS OUR PEOPLE IS TRYING TO CREATE. GOD KNOWS ITS NOT EASY AS A BLACK ARTIST TO BUSS THROUGH. Respect Germina…You go girl and do your thing! PROUD OF THE SISTER. THE CRABS WILL ALWAYS TRY TO SEND NEGATIVITY ACROSS, BUT i AM SURE YOU HAVE A CERTAIN MIND SET TO BE REACHING WHERE YOU ARE ALREADY. YOU WILL JUST BRUSH THEM OFF YOUR SHOULDER LIKE A SPEC OF DUST BECUASE THEY ARE NOT MOVING NOWHERE.
      RESPECT
