A list of applications to fill the position of Events Director at the Dominica Festivals Committee will soon be taken to cabinet.
Collin Piper, Director of Tourism, says six names have been selected, out of seventeen applicants wanting to take up the position formerly held by Valentine Cuffy.
“I would imagine hopefully that within the next two to three weeks at the latest, something would be done.
We cut it down to a short list of six, we interviewed them and we’ve made the recommendations to the minister,” Piper said.
According to the tourism director, experience in production and project management skills are among the requirements laid out for the position.
However Piper says things have been moving ahead, even while a new events director for the DFC has not been appointed.
Good, Val out.
It is a strange democracy when every little thing must go to the minster and the cabinet for approval so as to just have another job for a boy of theirs who cannot do the job.
