Addie Ottley, the Virgin Island’s premier media personality, will bring his TV and Radio Media House to Dominica this weekend! Mr. Ottley, the Virgin island’s most respected radio and TV personality will be in Dominica from today until Thursday to highlight to promote the unique feature of the Nature Isle to residents of the US and British Virgin Islands.
Mr. Ottley will host his popular “Addie Ottley morning show” live radio program from Dominica this Friday and Monday mornings from 7 to 10 am. The program can be listened to on WSTA 1340 “Lucky 13”. When he is not on live radio Addey will tour the island with a WTJX Channel 12 film crew to get footage for a one hour film feature on Dominica. He will film the island’s natural wonders and also get insight on Dominica through interviews with key stakeholders. Discover Dominica will use the opportunity to promote the Creole Festival and other reasons to visit Dominica to the wider Caribbean market.
This media initiative is being jointly sponsored by Discover Dominica Authority, Jungle Bay and Hummingbird Air, the new airline with direct connections between Canefield, Dominica and both St. Croix and St. Thomas. Hummingbird Air’s St. Thomas representative Mr. Jefferson “Frankie” Tonge was instrumental in negotiating this major media opportunity for Dominica.
Mr. Ottley has conducted similar, very successful media visits to both Barbados and St. Kitts.
Hello and good morning my people. That’s good that Mr Ottley is bringing his show to Dominica but with so many of our people in the Virgin Islands. I don’t see why we can’t have our own Talk Show in the VI where we can discuss anything that’s happening in Dominica.
I am in NYC and I listen to different station in the VI on the Internet but I don’t hear any that’s dedicated to issues or regular discussion about Dominica. We have many educated and qualify Dominicans in the VI so lets our own show. We must learn to do for ourselves and circulate our money among our people. When you pay Mr Ottley that money isn’t being circulated in Dominica Economy rather his taking the money back to the VI.
