The first ever Unity Music Festival will be held in Dominica this year.
The Unity Music Festival will commence on Thursday 29th December with a media launch and the festival will come to a close on Sunday January 1st, 2012.
Friday 30th December will feature the Martinique artiste Perle Lama in concert performing a mix of zouk and Caribbean music alongside ‘Be Wokaz Band’, Natral Vybz International, and WCK Band. The festival also provides the opportunity for local artistes and bands to perform in other countries through a program of cross border musical and cultural exchange.
Unity Music Festival is a new and unique event in Dominica simply because it represents a lot more than just a staged event. Unity Music Festival represents a ‘cross border musical and cultural exchange’. It includes a program to export Dominican artistes and bands to engage in events in other countries. This year Martinique meets Dominica meets Martinique. Unity Music Festival is also collaborating with the Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC).
A media presentation will be held on Thursday 29th December, 2011, featuring zouk artiste ‘Perle Lama’ of Martinique. Unity music festival 2k11 is hosted by Unity entertainment and is expected to be an annual event.

LOL… IF IT WAS ANOTHER POST ABOUT POLITICS IT WOULD BE FLOODED WITH COMMENTS.LOL. NOW THERE IS SOMETHING THAT PROMOTS ONENESS NO SUPPORT..LOL SICK PPL
nice will be there,GOOD AVENUE FOR TALENT EXPOSURE
I love this event. Its a great way to showcase the talent of our young rising artists. Its just sad to see that some great young artists were left out of the loop. Young rising reggae artists like Mel-C who’s been doing big things lately. Also, young jazz artists like Tiffy who wowed us with her beautiful voice at Creole in the Park, Creole & Jazz (with Shades of Green), & “Jazz by the River” as a solo artist. Not to mention the Jazz saxophonist Marvin Marie whom I’ve seen play with Swinging Starz, Shades of Green, & now as a solo act at “Jazz by the River” (haven’t seen him with Shades of Green for a little while now, so just wondering).
Sounds like another positive development…Could be healthy for our culture and could boost the economy through increased flow of capital.
Best wishes for our success!
Niceness.
