Dominica’s Ruth Augustine to compete in Caribbean’s Next Top Model

Dominica’s Ruth Augustine leaves for Trinidad on Monday September 26 to compete in Cycle 1 of the Caribbean’s Next Top Model (CaribeNTM.)

Ruth was selected from among hundreds of women from 35 territories across the region.

The Kingshill beauty will spend 40 days in a house in Port of Spain with the 14 other models, where they will have their every move filmed. They will compete for a grand cash prize and the opportunity to win a modeling contract with a top international modeling agency.

Miss Universe 1998 Wendy Fitzwilliam is producing the Caribbean’s Next Top Model for airing on CBS affiliate WSEE TV. The Top Model format was created by American supermodel Tyra Banks.

Ruth, a 2010 contestant in the Miss Dominica pageant, says she is thrilled to have made the final 15 and looks forward to launching the modeling career that she has always dreamed of.

“I get excited when modeling. As a model, I’m fierce.  I see this as an opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming an internationally recognized model and representing and making my country proud,” Ruth said.

“Whatever the outcome of the competition in Trinidad, I plan to bring my experience and newfound knowledge to help improve the modeling and fashion industries in Dominica,” Ruth added.

She advises that it is important to keep one’s dreams alive, understanding that achieving goals requires faith, belief in self, hard work and determination.

Cycle 1 of Caribbean’s Next Top Model will air 11 episodes from December 5th, 2011 at 8 p.m. on WSEE TV.

    No one is perfect we got high ministers making reading and spelling mistakes in parliament live on the radio, so who is miss agustine not to make a mistake…. thats just the case we need to help our people not hate on them. we need to push our people thats trying to reach to the top to let our country be known. I am overseas and when i say dominica people dont even know we exist the funny thing is they know martinique and gaudeloupe but not dominica…. to ruth listen and learn more do your best i know u can do it keep your head high make your haters motivate u to do better you are in my prayers 8)

    She needs to focus on the mood or emotion she is trying to channel in her photoe. She just has this blank stare in her photos. Her eyes do not say anything. She has a great figure and shape, but she must channel through her eyes.

        Not because the Government speaks poorly that she should not take into consideration the need to be able to speak well. If she does not make it because her speech was an issue you all are then going to critic her on that fact. My dear take into consideration all the negative as well as the positive remarks.
