Ghanian Gospel Minister coming to Dominica

Young people, who have been seeking to make an impact for God as well as providing solutions to social ills which affect the youth, are getting set to host a concert dubbed “Hungry To Worship” on Saturday 8th December 2012.

The concert, which is being organized by members of the Gospel Light Temple and Youth On A Mission For God, will feature a Ghanian minister based in the United Kingdom. Minister Atta Boata, who is well known for his gospel hit, “My God is Good-o”, “Everything Double Double” and “Hungry to Worship” will be the headline act at that concert.

“The Newtown Savanah will come alive in exhortations, admonition, dances, powerful worship and praise. The night’s event will feature Sernel, God Sent and Shaka Dancers,” a news release from the organizers indicates.

The proceeds from the concert will go towards the continuation of the groups Community Soup Kitchen in which they provide meals to elderly citizens on Saturdays, the continuation of three full scholarships to students who obtained passes at the Grade Six National Assessment, youth mentoring, after school programs and the purchase of equipment, furniture and building supplies for use in the after school programs.

Tickets cost $50.00 VIP, $40.00 standing and $25.00 for children under the age of 12 and can be purchased from CLC Bookstore in Roseau and M & R Trading in Portsmouth.

what we need in Dominica is the Gospel truth exactly what the apostles of Jesus taught and deed imagine less than one percent of Domincans are baptized the Bible way……something to think about

God is good all the time i can testify to that, great things he has done for my family and I. Stay blessed believers and encourage more people to join the movement of the Lord our God Jesus Christ. If it was Mavado or Vybz Kartel they would have nothing much to say but it’s a man of God so the devil has his followers trying to deter people from going. Stay blessed my fellow Dominicans and remember God is for the just as well as the unjust.

There are so many religin poping up and i belive the only reason is for finalcial gains .i would belive if you are a true christian you and your brother or sister have any conflict instead of fighting and you waking out and forming another religon iwould do what Jesus would ask of us and that is work it out come together with one another and stop dividing his house because at the last day religon is not important day of worship is not important what is important is love on another as i have loved you and if we only do that there would not be so much division we would be able to fix what ever confictbetwen each other ,

Maybe this a ploy to call it this a religious meeting as churches are not taxed on their income. That’s why you seeing them shooting out the ground like mushrooms and everybody calling themselves a pastor.

@ Humanist, I second the motion. We have become so gullible that once somone mentions church we get so excited not realising that these pastors, preachers, evangelists and what have you are just reaping off their own black people in the name of god. They are just after the money. How would they live so big if they were not getting money from the congregation? Why don’t they work as other people do? Does god need money? Doesn’t that same book say that he is a spirit, and if that’s the case does he need money? These people continue their brain-washed teaching and make people believe that everything will be alright once they come to jesus. These fairy tale stories that have been translated over and over again have lost their original truth which was copied from the hieroglyphs in Egypt written in the pyramids in stone. Do we need more religion as a people? It seems like we have more religion than any other race of people yet still our conditions get worse by the minute. We really need to stop and think about that. When we continue to serve the white man’s god we will never be delivered as a people. Why do we look for a white man in the sky to deliver us as a people? Religion has put that fear of hell in us so we believe that if we do not become christians we will not go to heaven. Doesn’t that same bible say that the earth is for man to dwell?
I used to believe these stories until I started reading and researching and found out the truth about religion. I guess we have been so conditioned to think a certain way that it is hard to break away from that and free our minds.
    One Love!

Be careful of what you say for it shall testify against you on the judgement day. Do not deceive others to follow your deceitful and foolish way.Indeed there is God and bible says that “whosoever that says that their is nor God is FOOLISH”.

out of south city this ? is for u

you mention that persons are serving a white man’s God, Are you indicating that there is a colored God, Or your disputing whether on not there is no God? Either ways,
the fact remains that he is the way the truth and the light, there is no way to my father but through me..where is the father? hmm….. I’m sure he is not here on earth.

Kanvee Adams was just here and some Christian leaders were trying there best to persuade Dominican to not attend the show because it was being organized by a non-christian organization….. to all those who went, i know that you can now say that it was a blast….. Thank You to all of you who came out and supported FOLKS ENTERTAINMENT!…. Much Love!

The Christian God is not good. No one who reads your precious bible can seriously think so. Read the book from cover to cover, verse to verse. You will find no “too goood” god in there but instead a blood-obsessed, criminally insane, murderous dictator.

Believe in what religion you want–but don’t claim to be a Christian without knowing what your religion is.

Freethiker you seem to be obsessed with the “Christian God” as you call it. On every possible subject regarding religion you choose to use DNO to spew your venom. I pray that very “Christian God” will intervene in your life and bring you that peace you seem so in need of.

        October 6, 2012

If the commenters on here were not equally obsessed with the Christian god, I would say nothing. It is because Dominica is full of religious zealots who seem to think that the entire world should be a Christian theocracy that I write my little dissenting comments. Virtually no one else defends skepticism, freethought, non-religious viewpoints here; and to tell me I am obsessed because I am one of a minority who do is utterly ridiculous and biased. So no, you’re wrong, I’m right, and I will continue doing what I do.

This is the last days.Because Dominica is quiet, to be compared with the rest of the world, The Bible said the devil comes to steal, to kill and destroy. Please ‘God’ make this group genuine,’cause with all the things going on in Dominica right now, the last thing we need is more strangers coming to reap us off and run. Lets pray for our young boys and girls especially to be very attentative and parents keep your eyes also on the older people who destroying our young

It’s always the last days, isn’t it? Strange how the days just keep going on and on like normal. Even stranger that, 2,000 years ago, Paul explicitly claimed we were in the last days then, in his own lifetime. Those must be long days indeed.

I do not trust no religion group coming from Africa, especially Ghana and Nigeria, they are all scam artist

Again I do not trust no preachers, man, woman, church group/any one from these African Nation, they are all scam artist

I just hope that they return back to Ghana, after their show

The Nigerian/Ghana Scam. One of the most recent spots in the world right now for scams is Africa and specifically Nigeria and Ghana. The online is full of “offers” from additional African cities and countries; just make sure your e-mail Inbox. But Ghana is a hot-bed for dating scams and huge money scams involving gold and diamonds. What we have initiated through our investigations is that in the U.S. there is several times a middle man that refers the victim to the scammer. The scammers are intellectual and be familiar with their game. They frequently have multiple scams going at the same time, it’s their business.

I just hope you people hide your Documents, etc, cause they are fast at what they are doing, thanks God for Computer, everything about them is all over the web, Dominicans BEWARE

Dr. Lucian, I was very disturbed when I read your comment. Have you ever been to Ghana to substantiate your points? How would you feel if someone says that (we) Dominicans are thieves? Refrain from judging people and it’s better you decide Not to attend the function than to criticize without having any facts. I have visited Ghana on several occasions and your assertion about the people in that country engaging in ‘’ dating scams and huge money scams involving gold and diamonds’’ is totally false and stupid! I live in another Caribbean country and it seems to me that some churches have a special interest in what they’re doing and I think it’s all over the world including our country Dominica. Learn and refrain from saying things without having any proof.Shhh! May God bless you

      @Think about it

In the year 2012, God has blessed most of us with the ability of discernment, to know who are the wolves and who are the sheep.

And so, if we do not put our trust and hope in His guidance to us, that is the only reason we will encounter the mishap, according your St Lucia details.

Why can’t we stop judging people before we even meet them. That is so wrong about our attitude!

Meanwhile I hope that this concert will be a blessings for those who are in need. And to God be the glory!

      • October 5, 2012

        At think about it

I hope you are not “thinking about yourself” as the wise man, for you would be one of those who are wise in your own eyes. God has a reward for people like you.

I just want to remind you that I know God will use the “fool’ like me to bring you further down to the nothing you already is–as you illustrating it to me.

Keep the peace to yourself, you need it more that I do.

I second that motion. I have a relative who lives in England and she told me that African churchs are as ubiquitous as sand on the beach in London. The worse part is, all the preachers and their wives drive around in expensive German car and live very lavish lifestyles. They also have a habit of passing around the collection basket 3 to 4 times during every service.

My people, watch your wallets. These African preachers are nothing but scammers.

    • Humanist
