Haitian relief concert carded for Sunday

General Manager of Depex Colour Lab Emile Depooter and Kairi FM’s Frankie ‘Krazy T’ Bellot are organizing a concert to assist victims of Tuesday’s earthquake in Haiti.

Some of Dominica’s major entertainment acts have already agreed to perform free of charge.

“We have contacted the various bands and artists like the Hunter, the Fanatic Band, Swinging Stars, Triple Kay and any other artists and bands who may want to participate,” Depooter said.

According to him, sponsors are also welcome to come on board.

He said the Dominica Red Cross are involved in the event and will be collecting donations at the gate.

“It is only $10 to enter and the Red Cross will be at the gate picking up the money, so people won’t have to wonder where the monies are going to,” he said.

Meantime, Bellot says this is a time for corporate citizens to work together for a worthy cause.

“People come together when a disaster happens. It is a disaster in Haiti and Haiti is our neighbor. We have decided to give back to the Haitians this time,” he said.

The event will be staged at the Krazy Kokonuts from 3 p.m. this Sunday.

It is always a good gesture when we lend our hands to our fellow brethren. Haiti is our sister/neighbor in so may ways. What happened in Haiti can happen in D/ca (god forbid) by way of volcano or even a quake. I hope you guys get an excellent turnout.

As for me I have made my contribution by donation.

    God Bless

Very good effort to assist our neighbors.
I’m having a hard time understanding why it’s called a “concert”?!
Out of curiosity, are they sending the cash donations or are they making relevant purchases for necessities?
Hats off to all the organizers; I know it’ll be well attended.
Hope we as a nation can always come together to assist in such ventures, and not always be so bent on negativity.
Dominica seem to be very wealthy, yet we still have areas in poverty & homelessness.Thank god it wasn’t us.I think we need to pray for each other too.
God’s continued Blessings on our nation.
