Haiti’s leading Carnival band comes to WCMF 2016 with more Kompa Direct 

wcmf-screenshotHaiti’s leading Carnival band, Kreyol La comes to the 2016 World Creole Music Festival with a reputation for their unique brand of the thumping, rhythmic Kompa Direct straight out of Haiti when they perform on the festival stage on Night One, Friday 28th October, at Festival City, Windsor Park Stadium, Roseau, Dominica.

Kreyol La is among a growing number of groups based in Haiti reputed for producing a sound and rhythm suited for the colourful Haitian carnival. The group has claimed several top awards over the past several years for their carnival music, outstripping and out-performing well-known kompa bands such as Krezi Mizik and T-Vice.  Their brand of kompa music is very similar to other fan favourites such as Djakout and D.P Express, and have endeared them to legions of fans both in Haiti and across the Haitian diaspora.

Kreyol La follows in a long line of top Kompa bands out of Haiti to perform at the annual WCMF in Dominica since the inception of the festival in 1997. Their music and the influence of the other top Haitian acts to appear on the WCMF stage like Carimi, Top- Vice and T-Vice, Djakout, Krezi Mizik, Magnum Band, Zin, Phantom Band, Tabou Combo, Nu Look, Sweet Mickey and so many others, will bring great nostalgia and a warm feeling to the fans of the festival and music lovers who will find that music intoxicating and riveting.

Fans of kompa music and music lovers are sure to be thrilled by the performance of this Haitian act when they join the galaxy of stars appearing on Night One of the 19th edition of the World Creole Music Festival. ion of the World Creole Music Festival is slated for October 28-30, 2016 at the Windsor Park Stadium in Roseau, the Dominican capital.  A line-up of top regional and international acts covering a diverse range of creole music from the infectious Bouyon to the sweet sensation of Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Afro-beat, Haitian Kompa to the vibrating sounds of Cadence-lypso and Zouk awaits patrons. The main headliners of this year’s festival include Dominica’s Lady of Song Ophelia, Dominica’s song-bird Michele Henderson, Kreyol La, Dédé St. Prix, Haitian international super-star Wyclef Jean, T-Micky, African pop sensation Akon, Timaya, reggae star Popcaan, Morgan Heritage, Gentleman, Soca group Kes The Band, along with Dominican bands WCK, Triple Kay Global, Original Bouyon Pioneers, Extasy, Breve, Midnight Groovers and Bouyon Ambassador Asa Banton.                                                                     ###

    Val Cuffy, make sure they pay you like all the others. Who Jah Bless no man Curse, a king has no honor in his country. But Val Cuffy to the Rescue, the vibes as it pertains to the appeal internationally, Regionally, and on the local scene is already a different vibes. Good luck going forward, and hope after all is said and done, Win, loose or draw, we get a transparent and honest Post mortem of the festival, sucess or none sucess, we the patrons deserve better. We go see. but in the mean time, My possie, of a Hundred strong will be in the nature island checking the vibes and contribute to our Economy, therefor, I must Speak!!! see my pips soon.
