Students who obtained distinction in the recently concluded Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) will perform at a special concert this evening at the Convent High School Auditorium.
Dubbed “The High Scorers Concert,” it is expected to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Prizes will also be awarded to students who obtained highest scores in the various disciplines. Students who have demonstrated discipline, diligence and commitment from the various studios will also be receiving prizes.
The performances will be on flute, clarinet, violin, guitar, recorder, saxaphone and piano. A variety of classical music will also be performed.
The concert is free of charge but contributions can be made to support the efforts of Dominica Association of Music Educators (DAME).
Fifty seven (57) students took the ABRSM exams: 14 received Distinctions, 20 Merits and 23 Passes while 43 students took the DAME local exams; 9 received Distinctions, 23 Merits and 9 Passes.
The exam saw Leanne Christian being name DAME’s 2011 Student of the Year and Mekisha Harrigan, a Flute student, topping the DAME local practical exam.

I agree
I agree with u 100 percent Anna. This post surely deserves more comments that are positive……………………
Congrats to all achievers!!! :):):)
When youth do something good, no comments on DNO. If 57 students had a gang fight, the internet would not be able to contain the number of comments that Dominicans would want to post. anyway… congratulations to us all.
