The gates opened for the 13th annual FLOW Creole in the Park (CITP) on Monday at the Botanical Gardens.
The event started at 12 noon with the official ribbon cutting ceremony which included the national anthem sang by Ian Anthony and an opening prayer by Father EustaceThomas who led for the Bishop Gabriel Malzaire, who was unable to attend.
This paved the way for the ribbon cutting with President of the Commonwealth of Dominica His Excellency Charles Savarin & Mrs. Savarin, who was assisted by the General Manager of FLOW Jeffrey Baptiste and the Minister of Tourism Robert Tonge.
The event then followed with performances by the Altra Sound Band, Look- Us Band, Extacy Band and Midnight Groovers who brought the curtains down for day one.
The event is expected to continue up to the 27th of October.
The event features the finest in Creole food, Music, Art & Craft and Culture. It is the biggest daytime event in Dominica and organizers expect it to be a great success.

Great presentation. Everyone had fun. Thanks to the organizers and participants.
Enjoy yourselves to the fullest cause life is to short. Enjoy incident free.
Am not sure if it is an oversight on the organizers, but it is sad that the Minister of Agriculture over the years is never invited to be at the headtable nor on the program to deliver remarks. The Botanic Gardens is part of Forestry and Forestry is part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. I believe that either the Minister or the Permanent Secretary or a Senior staff from Forestry should have been invited to address the ceremony.
This in not a forestry or agricultural show. The event was just held in the Gardens. This is for the cultural division.
Day one seemed to have gone well but the streaming was horrible. Whoever recorded the show needs another job. I tried looking at the recording on Youtube and it was very poor. By the time Chubby got on stage the reception was terrible.
in 2016. a damn shame
