Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) recently conducted a worldwide search to find six teams of adventurous filmmakers, photographers, and storytellers to participate in the inaugural Dominica Film Challenge.

The lucky teams have been invited to the island for a creative expedition to uncover Dominica’s hidden treasures—through words, pictures, and film.

The participating teams were chosen among 1,100-plus applicants around the world who applied to take part in the adventure.

Participants will spend a week on the island and are invited to tell the story of Dominica in their own creative way—whether the result is a short film, travelogue, photography project, or some other creative social media endeavor. Teams will compete against each other for the creative challenge portion of the expedition, with prizes being awarded to the teams that best portray the image of Dominica and their search to discover their inner explorer, all while raising awareness of Dominica’s natural beauty, attractions, and cultural heritage through their social media networks.

“We have an incredible group of individuals coming down to the island to not only capture amazing images, but also to tell incredible stories,” said Michael Kraabel, Executive Producer of the Dominica Film Challenge. “Not only are the teams talented, but they also have an amazing social media following and influence. The combined following of the contestants is well over 3 million people.”

“We expect the teams to be amazed at the rich cultural heritage, friendly people and picturesque natural beauty Dominica has to offer,” said CEO and Director of Tourism, Colin Piper. “We welcome an opportunity to showcase a truly authentic Nature Island experience through the lenses and written words of the expedition teams.”

The challenge takes place between March 23rd and March 28th, with the final project submissions being posted online for a public vote in mid-June. Follow the participants online via twitter (@DominicaStory) or hashtag (#dominicachallenge).

“Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) recently conducted a worldwide search to find six teams of adventurous filmmakers, photographers, and storytellers to participate in the inaugural Dominica Film Challenge.”

Piper, you people need to stop talking fart, you search the world looking for what? You need to stop lying, you are the same one who said recently that you were forming an alliance with St. Kitts which was going to provide more transportation by air, into and out of Dominica.

Are not tired of talking crap?

How come you are all over the world looking for film makers to come to Dominica and rip gold from out of the ground; how come last year there was a Filmmaker, a movie producer, born to Dominica parent in Dominica, and you your DDA did not approach him and afford him the opportunity to participate in your film challenge.

Man you are a liar and should stop spreading false propaganda , it is election time, and all of you poppet’s singing for your super crawls out from under your rock talking nonsense. The same Filmmaker Director of Dominica parentage released a movie lasts year breaking record in the millions of dollars for moves made last year, he is planing to film a movie at home which involves his father.

You need to be quiet, and stop talking nonsense, you disgust people!

If you do not have money for you to eat, where the hell you going to get money to pay people to travel to Dominica, to get involve into some of your fart. Because I know you are a liar, I challenge you to tell us the name of one single filmmaker you Piper you approach in the world to come to Dominica, and smell the gas (fart) you pass.

And by the way how come not a single 747, 777, or any other has not yet arrived from St, Kitts, loaded with passengers, you so lie, you forgot that Dominicans including me knows the geographic location of St. Kitts, and knows you cannot obtain any help from St. Kitts in any shape or form, there are no airlines originating in St. Kitts, except LIAT, and although they have a few international flights to St. Kits, you do not have an International Airport in Dominica, to accommodate an international flight landing in St. Kitts, and then moving on to Dominica.

You people need to stop telling all these lies!

Excellent initiative. One of the best ways to promote ourselves. Wish they had told us earlier though – the event will be over in three days time. We are in need of good, positive news.
