Dominican, Joy Stoute, is expected to compete against nine other participants from across the Anglophone, Hispanophone, Creolophone and Francophone Caribbean in a song competition in Fort-de-France, Martinique on October 21.
The winner will take home the Jeff Joseph Trophy, which represents the great respect the people of Martinique have for the late Dominican music giant.
Each competitor is expected to sing two songs that are representative of the competitor,s country’s musical style.
One of the two compositions which Stoute will be singing is a slow sensual cadence love song composed by herself and arranged by Julie Martin.
Her second song is an up-tempo cadence-lypso number composed by one of Dominica’s best lyricists, the legendary Gordon Henderson of Exile One.
Both songs are published by Mark Off Music Publishing Co.
In preparation for the event, a two-member video production team was in Dominica from the 7th to the 11th of September to shoot scenes for a ten-minute segment on the island as well as a biographical segment on Stoute to be used as part of the promotional campaign for the event.
In addition, scenes were shot for a video of Stoute’s song “Let Me Love You” using a camera mounted on a remotely controlled drone helicopter.
Dominica’s participation in the ALL4one Production is being coordinated by the Association of Music Professionals (AMP) of which Stoute has been a founding member and is its current secretary.
The effort of AMP is being supported by the Discover Dominica Authority and the Cultural Division, who both understand the tremendous promotional benefits to be gained from Dominica’s association with a major televised cultural event.
The competition will be broadcast live via satellite from the renowned Atrium Concert Hall on every television station throughout the Caribbean, with the technical means of France Television.
In addition the show will be available worldwide on TV 5 France, as well France O in metropolitan France.
