Karessah goes to study

He has graced the calypso stage in Dominica for years and has captured the calypso crown in twice.

He has thrilled calypso fans year after year with his wit and class act.

But come 2014, Gregory “Karessah” Riviere will be absent from the calypso stage.

And this will be for the next two years.

Yes you are hearing right, no Karessah for 2014 and 2015.

This is because he has secured a scholarship from the Australian government for two years and will be among a group of students who will be studying ‘down under.’

“I can confirm that I won’t be around for the next two years,” the popular calypsonian said. “Its not easy but I had to do what is best for me and so I depart Dominica on January 6 for Australia where I will be among a number of other students doing studies in various fields.”

He also said that he has been working with a particular individual who will have a song penned by him for the 2014 season.

“So even if I won’t be around, I will have some presence with a song that I know is good material and I hope will go very far,” he stated.

Karassah said he knows his presence “will be missed” but he is asking his fans to “continue to support the art form” (calypso) even in his absence.

Greg, Congratulations, couldn’t have happened to a better man. You are a bright star from Dominica. I wish you all the best in whatever you study. I hope whoever you wrote a song for becomes King. I fully supported your calypso as you wrote them all yourself and they always have so much meaning.
    GOODDAY MATE!

It would be nice to know what you are going to study: A skills degree or an academic degree, depending on how long you desire to be a student. In some fields you need graduate degrees to even be considered for employment.
    Good luck.

Karessa you will surely be missed . However, you need to further your studies bro… the world has changed… move with the times..
Please advise your fellow village boy to do the same before he can get the top job. No Dominican PM reaching United Nations without a first degree. Karessa sing for him to hear and understand that education is the key to selfdevelopment.

Lennox Linton should get one of those scholarships to get some sort of qualification if he want to be PM of DA. We nah want no unqualified PM to manage our country.

      December 24, 2013

Skerrit has not showed us his degree from Ole Miss or Mid-Western State. If you have proof that Skerrit
graduated from anyone of these Unuversities, then you can pick up your reward from Agelo Alleyne
