i am not against local bands. ill always support my local bands. but since citp has been in existence lime has been bringing in foreign acts. so every year pple anticipate who is coming. many times ive looked forward to citp rather than wcmf. now all of a sudden, with no warning at all, lime is just coming with only local bands, not taking the patrons expectations into consideration.

i think the mixed review on this yrs line up is based on that, the fact that we were not considered. thats an annual event, everybody knows the exact time its coming on, lime had enough time to at least let us know that they were going in a different direction this yr. the lack of hype let me know that nothing really big was being planned, but at least give us the courtesy of letting us no. simple.

i will still go to the park on the 4 days if i can. to support local. good luck everybody

you say all that to say you will still go?you just wasted vital energy to prove how ‘WE”like to talk. That’s what CITP should be,strickly local.
      That’s the national sperit.and the price is friendly too.Go enjoy and support your CULTURE;

It’s great news to hear that LIME is going all local this year. They will still get the crowds, since this whole event is more about the ATMOSPHERE than the bands in itself. The only thing is that LIME doubled the fee charged to patrons last year, claiming it was because of all those foreign bands. Now its an all local event and they have maintained their increased priced structure.

Once upon a time, this event was an avenue for all and sundry to partake and enjoy a piece of the independence entertainment pie. However it is quickly becomiing an event where many less financially viable clients who enjoyed all the 4 days, now have to CHOOSE a day which to attend due to economic constraints and the disingenuous price hikes being placed by LIME who have done a 1000% increase within 5 years.

Initially they claimed they were doing Dominicans a FAVOUR, but now this is pure unadulterated capitalism where the vendor is taking in more and giving back less.

      September 27, 2013

you rather our local artist and vendors dont get piece of the pie.well am for them getting paid.

  16. Jr
    September 27, 2013

Hope they paying the locals as much as they paid the overseas bands. Dominicans like to exploit there people and call it local support.

Who on earth put that line-up or more the the organization of that line up should go back to school or tell the managers that gave the budget that cannot work. Not even the businesses would be interested in putting money/hard work into booths or bars at that “flop” that coming there.

When Nasio agrees to play with local musicians and do not want to charge how much to bring in how many foreign musicians which will cost either WCMF or CITP plenty more money.

  57. September 26, 2013

im confused, to me before lime was always bringing one international artist to headline the show on the last night like last year was mr vegas and others like kes the band and queen ifrica. this year i dont see none of this, citp was our only hope for international artists in dominica and it seems that has vanished

    • Family Guy!
      September 26, 2013

So why cant the local bands head line, why does it have to always be a foreign artist??? appreciate what you all have….the line up is great, strictly local!!!

Non of allu don’t HAVE to come. But I hope when u own a small business or something u don’t expect Dominicans to assist or support you. we will go the the International Market to purchase what ever it is that you are selling.

You all are sad to even make these comments. Im not a fan of the present local music, but im also happy that they all get a time to shine. everyone deserves a chance to sell what they’ve got and I applaud LIME for this innovative idea!!

Local acts Dominating the scene!!! Not such a bad thing! Dominicans can show support to their own and the foreigners will get a great showcase!
