Dang DNO… thats the truth but couldn’t you package it a bit better? “Miss Dominica 2017 returns from Miss Jaycees Pagent participation” or something like that.

Like it or not she earned her Miss Dominica crown and I wish her the best in future pageants.

In comparison to other pageants and with other competitors Jade did not deliver. A lot of the talent displayed on that evening was not even a talent. Miss Anguilla all the way!!!

Every one cannot win. She did her best and that is what mattered. You and DNO should not treat her like an enemy of state.

      Easy win for Karla.

I have nothing against Karla, but Karla was unable to beat Jade at our local competition so what makes you think she would do any better on the regional scale? Karla is not Ms Dominica, Jade is; and that will not change so best you just give Jade some constructive criticisms that will help her in other pageants.

I shall wait for the results of the upcoming pageant in St. Kitts, until then my entire response remains on hold. I have nothing against Jade but clearly if you look at the show from an objective point of view you would have seen that Karla is much more of a Regional Pageant contender that Jade could ever be. For one she lacks the commanding stage presence it takes to captivate judges attention. The Dominica show was won on sympathy and total bias combined with envy and jealousy. Jade could have never won the swimwear round which we will clearly see when the results are given from the swimwear round on the 5th. Constructive criticism at this stage is too late. Jades team should have been well aware of her short comings and a strategy should have been put in place to enhance the weak areas, based on what I saw on Saturday I must give kudos where it is due, her walking has been improved and her tummy area is more toned.

You tried. You did your best. There is much competition among so many contestants. It is not always easy to be first. All the same, I hope you had an enjoyable time, made some new friends and will return home with fond memories. This is what a competition also entail.

DNO please not be Bias and post my comment…. (Disclaimer)

DNO please explain to me why Miss Dominica left island last week and you did not make any posting of it, like in prior years. Ok she did not advance so you now find to post that headline. Just a question please explain. And why miss Dominica of 2016 is still being mention in a post for Miss Dominica 2017. Again just a question. I think your media outlet and the others in Dominica need to do more to highlight the doings of the Current Miss Dominica. There are a lot of things she is doing etc but not much is mention of her via your medium. Just keeping an unbiased eye. Thanks

Hmm… Maybe the criteria for even being in the Carnival Queen contest should be changed?

Qualifications need to be met, if it is winning these kinds of competions.

Did she have the competence to win? Guess not.
Was she qualified to set foot on the stage? Not so sure…
Did she prepare properly? Wasn’t there, so dont know…

    She placed in nothing :-|

Remember this for the next upcoming pageants…

Why should our criteria change because we didn’t place in one pageant? you forgot that our queens have always been doing great in regional pageants so our criteria is okay.

The talent round killed Dominica. It needed something extra to be able to compete at that level. Despite that she represented Dominica well. All the best Jade we are all proud of you.

“Miss Dominica Jade Romain was not selected among the top five to advance to the final round of the 56th Miss Jaycees Queen….”
Why not just be thankful that she represented us? These pageants are a lot of hard work! We always want to dwell on the negative. Thank You ms Romain for representing us because I know for sure I couldn’t do it. I didn’t see the show, but I’m sure that you gave it your all and did the best you could. I appreciate your efforts.

@ June,,,,,I am surprise DNO is posting your comment.. usually the comments like these which faults them receive …….Duplicate, receiving consideration or is delited. This is just a bias to control public opinion. They they and their political bandits like% aka Rose Valley aka Ronald B Charles and BorgarRoy claim the government wants to control the media. They are doing exactly what they are accusing the government of doing. As usual their fake news has no credibility by real Dominicans. Now they are planning for D Day 2.

      • Emile Dominique
        August 2, 2017

” Your comments are awaiting consideration” DNO always declare. Then these comments remain under consideration for a few days where the public readers cannot read it then it is deleted. Dishonest tricks of the trade………controlling the media. You do not have to be in government to be a dictator.
