The organizers that brought you the first-ever Mr. Dominica competition have confirmed that history is again in the making with the staging of the Mr. Caribbean competition.

The event will take place right here in Dominica at the Arawak House of Culture on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 8:00 p.m.

Contestants will participate in costume, talent, swimwear, formal wear and interview segments in what is expected to be a night of non-stop action.

The countries represented in the competition include Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and The Bahamas.

Lead organizer, Marie-Antoinette Mora, said it’s an event not to be missed.

“The Mr. Dominica show was rated as the best show ever in Dominica and the Mr. Caribbean show will be recorded in history as the greatest show yet in the Caribbean. It will be entertaining, enticing and exciting. Moreover, we believe that in everything we do, we must add value and we are definitely going to augment Dominica’s Carnival product and give tourism a boost as well, as many of the contestants, chaperons and supporters have never been to Dominica and are extremely excited at the prospect of being in the Nature Island,” she said.

Tickets for the show cost $75 and are available exclusively at The Glam.

According to Mora, the show is the highlight of a series of activities that flow into the weekend.

“We are pleased to have Richard Young, Casting Director of Caribbean’s Next Top Model, as the Chief Judge for the Mr. Caribbean Show. Richard has been iconicized as the Caribbean’s Fashion Guru and we have been working together closely to ensure that we include a component on Stage Dynamics that will be open to all,” Mora noted.

She noted that “anyone who is interested in being on stage, Queen Contestants – past, present and future, actors, dancers, models, fashionistas, performing artistes, MCs, personages – VIPs and celebrities, the corporate community, anyone at all who is interested in their appearance, flow of movement, carriage, presence, style etc. can register for the workshop and we invite everyone to attend.”

“Additionally, there will be a barbering workshop for all stylists and aspiring hairstylists – male and female – and, while on island, Richard will conduct a casting call for Season 2 of Caribbean’s Next Top Model and once again any and everyone who believes that they have what it takes to participate in the upcoming season is invited to attend,” she said.

Registration fees, venue and other details for both workshops and the casting call will be provided at a later date.

Sounds good but not the price ner pal…Month end wont be until the week after so spending $75 on a ticket would be a bit much for me…Maybe offer different prices…$50 regular ticket $75 VIP where you get to meet the winner take photos with him etc.

@care – Then you should spend your time watching MORE news and sensible stuff instead of wannabes and desperadoes…

Segments of the wider world have legalized perversions such as prostitution. Therefore, should we take our lead and follow the wider world in whatever it does?

Madame, please go and learn how to develop an independent mind instead of trying to be a person with a follow-fashion type of mind alright.

      Now run along….

@care – You should find something better to watch instead of nonsense.

Try the news or something with sense for a start. Then you’ll know what is a talent show and what ain’t.

stupees. I well want $75.00 to pay my bills I going and watch a group of men pose on stage in bathing suits. What nonsense is this?

These people just make me sick

    • Kamchatka
      January 30, 2014

@zulo – I agree with you. They make all of us sane people sick.

Silly women and mind-warped men are the ones who scream in glee and joy at these things.

In these hard economic times, absolutely nobody should waste their time and money to go and watch confused men talking in effeminate voices prancing around a stage in underwear and shaking their waist like their spine is made of jello.

I condemn all these manifestations of macomere behaviour.
