Miss Dominica in swim wear at Jaycees pre-show
Miss Dominica and Miss Caribbean World, Nadira Lando, was among 14 contestants from around the region who participated in the Miss Jaycees pre-show in Antigua on Wednesday evening.
The contestants appeared in three segments: swimwear, talent and evening wear.
Although the contestants were judged at Wednesday evening’s pre-show, the top 10 will be revealed on the night of the main event on Friday, August 3.
A further five will then be selected for a final round.
The other contestants at the event are from Anguilla, Barbados, Curacao, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, the British Virgin Islands, St Croix, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Kitts & Nevis, Trinidad & Tobago and the host delegate from Antigua and Barbuda.
The 51-year-old Miss Jaycees Caribbean Queen show is one of the most prestigious pageants in the Caribbean.

@ Supporter, Miss Universe is a BEAUTY PAGEANT, the ladies do not participate in a talent segment but are judged primarily on their physical appearance and eloquence. If a girl choses to do drama as a talent, then thats her decision, she just needs to proper coach to facilitate a strong delivery. The problem with drama at talents is that most of the ladies have no professional training and therefore, the talent falls flat. Anyway, good luck to Miss Dominica, the competition is VERY tough.

How do you know how the judging was? I was there too, I didn’t hear or see anything about how tight it was… perhaps in your opinion you mean?

That’s a much better swimsuit than that red thing you wore in the show in St. Vincent.

That is not the point. She is D/ca National Queen competing in a regional competition and representing Dominica. We have every right to voice our opinion… to you it is complaining, to many others .. being objective (or subjective) whichever one you may choose.

She better get her act together. One cannot forget the recently held show where she did not place. Somehow, I hope you have done your analysis and evaluation and better prepared for this show. It is a competition, not simply a SHOW!

I wish our Queen all the best in the Miss Jaycee show. The only thing is that I hope she has a new talent which is strong and a new creative wear. She used the talent at two different shows already, I think the pple and the judges would like to see something different!
The talent segment should be something God blessed you with (eg; singing, dancing, playing a piano etc.) I really have a problem with the participants coming on stage doing Skits. If you are talented at dramatizing then fine, so I don’t know why majority of those girls coming and act on the stage.. Not being negative just stating my opinion!

i think it should be called creative expression instead of talent… cuz that’s not talent at all
True but what if the person cannot, sing , dance or play a muscial instrument?
When they sing all you will come and say they singing for talent and they cannot sing. What isf is Drawing that is their God given talent?
Should they come and draw on stage? LOL
Skits will never go out of season!
But what talent are we getting from the skit? A message? Well rather they practice a dance or someting that rather looks like a talent than come do drama on stage.. Cuz They still do nonsence in the drama, sometimes it makes no sence! And if you watch Miss America and Miss Universe the girls are well informed about what they are doing and you’ll NEVER find any skit in the talent segment!
Plus them love songs they are playing for them to walk in their dress I just don’t like it.. I think they should really follow how the Miss USA pageants are organized.. Too much lay lay!
