The highly anticipated third edition of Dominica’s Nature Island Challenge (NIC 3.0) premieres in the USA and Canada this Saturday August 15, 2015 at 2PM ET on Outside Television.

In April 2015, six teams of four competed in NIC 3.0, a four-day hiking competition, covering more than 40 miles predominantly along Dominica’s Waitukubuli National Trail, the only long distance hiking trail in the Caribbean. Described as one of “the toughest competitions in the Caribbean”, athlete teams encountered a series of adventure, cultural, and photo challenges involving strategy, problem solving, and creativity.

The teams comprised accomplished, socially connected, adventure seeking athletes who were revved up to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience, which took them across the rain forests, lakes, rushing streams, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking scenery that define Dominica and the Nature Island Experience. The teams represented four countries: USA, Germany, Trinidad & Tobago, and Barbados.

Discover Dominica Authority hosted this exciting dual purpose event, which markets the unique attributes of the destination all in an effort to increase visitor numbers. 2014 Champions, Trinidad White noted that: “We are competing in the Nature Island Challenge because we love what it brings in the most beautiful hiking country in the World. It identifies who we are and what we love. WE ARE READY to take on the rain forest and mountains of Dominica.”

With growing interest from the global market each year, do not miss the opportunity to view the competitiveness of the twenty-four NIC athletes and tell your friends and family in the USA and Canada to tune in to NIC 3.0 on Outside Television!

On Tuesday, August 18th, 2015 the one-hour show will be released digitally at www.youtube.com/nichallenge. Other airings will be announced at a later date.

The least the writer could do is break it down and inform us on which channel will each carrier be showing this, if possible.

why wasn’t Dominica in this one…. the government should sponsor athletes in Dominica who want to take aprt, and make available a signup for interested Dominican’s to join the NIC,

Dominica didn’t produce a team that was up to standard.

    • There are 4 Teams. I watched the last segment and Dominica was one of the teams. Not because it is taking place in Dominica that we must have a team compete each time. Let more people come to our country and see what we have to offer.

A better question to have been asked is \”Has Dominica ever had a team compete?\” The answer would have been \”YES.\” Instead of our usual statements the Government should………!!
