Prolific bouyon songwriter/producer /recording artist Mr. Neijel “Nayee” Jno. Baptiste, popularly dubbed as the “Bouyon Prince” is at it again. Fans of Nayee will be left with plenty to look out for this summer 2013, as Nayee is carded to release his first solo video. The video is scheduled to be released on Friday, July 12th, 2013 @ The Banana Tree Bar & Grill a.k.a. Garage from 7:30pm. This video features Nayee’s first summer single release “Darling”.
“Darling” is a groovy soca type song which showcases the artist’s versatility. It has an enticing acoustic guitar accompaniment and melodious lyrics which we have all grown to love from Nayee over the years.
In Nayee’s words: “The inspiration behind this video originated from an actual real-life experience which many Dominicans may refer to as Gwo-Pwel”, he laughs. “ It’s a real life story where a guy ends up losing his girlfriend due to him being accused of cheating with another woman, when she actually proved to be just a stalker”, he explains.
The former frontman for bouyon giants, WCK says the reason for producing this video which was directed by Ambo Visuals and Fire Nation Entertainment to send out a message to my fans and the general public that “I am taking steps to do things differently this time around with my music and solo career. I didn’t want to release just another song but, actually add some visual representation to my production. This is the trend being taken in the global music industry today.”
“This song “Darling” is one I believe which is marketable”, Nayee goes on to say. “I would like to take the opportunity to ask all my fans to continue showing me the support that they have given me over the years by playing their part in sharing and promoting this video. Dominica’s music and artists need to be promoted, most importantly by the people, this in turn can and will take our music industry to heights unforeseen by many”.
For local viewers, the video will be aired on Marpin & SAT on Friday, July 12th, 2013 immediately after the evening news and for viewers worldwide, the video will be officially released on Nayee’s Facebook page and Youtube channel on the same night.
