Respect to Nelly Stharr… great response, educate the masses sister… for some it is totally ok to promote the ills of a nation and the things that are detrimental to a society… but what is good and pure we hide or try to persecute… Like brother bob said “Herb is the healing of a nation, alcohol is the destruction” also he said “Just can’t live that negative way…make way for the positive day!” People let’s look at the positive of things always…. lean not on the negatives as we Dominicans always seem to do… Peace and Love… Rastafari liveith….

Bless up Nelly….you are a beautiful sistren an empress, this soceity WE LIVE IN puts too much pressure on women and now even men to uphold a false standard of beauty and that standard can be so ridiculous and vain, it convinces some women that they should have plastic surgery and maim their bodies to look like those model types in magazines. Creating a culture of consumerism and waste for all kinda crap that giving you cancer and disease in de long run….

Even our dominican women shaving off their natural eyebrow and drawing one shape like a rainbow high up on their forehead, I am a lover and promoter of ‘NATRAL’ beauty, if Jah put it on you why you must take it out….fearfully and wonderfully made all his creations….nuff respect…..de herb is a medicine, scientifically proven. Your scene is positive, heartical….I N I love your music!

    Jah bless

    LOL
    You alls are so funny
First of all for all those who do not know I have had my precepts from the time I started growing my Natty dread 16 years ago…I have been tormented by everyone including my family friends strangers just name it… still It grows forward even after I try to take it off…so why should I want to take off what wants to grow ……don’t make no sense to me…. I lllooovvveee the way I am I LLLLOOOOVVVEEE my precepts with a passion…when you see I N I,U see a woman who do not partake in the followings of vanity or what society claims is beautiful or acceptable….I do not live to impress any one but the creator….I do my best to live upfull and clean…so therefore if you do not like my precepts well that is between you and yourself and them…

Secondly ,No one is sueing any one.. the Ifrikan Queen and the Rebel with a cause is sooooo in love with Dominica they plan to return to do more shows….maybe buy some property….

And for those who continue to make an issue of the herbikal factor…I am the only Rastafarian on the committee so I just want to make it known that I am speaking on behalf on myself not the committee..
Herbs can never be illegal..plant a seed and tell him that it is illegal for him to sprout out of the earth.. If you succeed in doing this well i will be the first to support you..if you know ur history of why this TREE was labelled illegal in the first place you would know that governments use to encourage farmers to plant herb to boost the economy internationally … It is only when the cotton industry felt threatened by the hemp industry this whole thing started and it was not so long ago ….It is used in alot of the medicines that YOU take to ease all sorts of pain they just call it by a different name look in the bird seeds that you buy in the store it is in there tooo ….most ancient traditions and cultures use this tree for many different things healing learning ….I could go on because I know what I know I educate myself about the things I stand firm to defend..and not defend…. and for all those who want to take a wonderful evening like the night of the 9th of January where the energies of the people were so high and upfull no fights broke off no quarrels no disputes… i saw people who had not spoken in years stand side by side next to each other ..dancing smiling… the place was packed to the max…and they fulljoyed themselves to the fullest… If you want maybe we should just stick to promoting songs that talk about we being members of a rum family where the young ones come before the old ones die..since alcohol is sooo much better for the youths in ur opinion no one ever opposed this song that was sang by a police officer or many other like this that is promote alchohol lyrics or that maybe we should blast like they do in the school sessions and dances to WOOD DEM instead of bigging up the creator ..and the goodness of all natural things…my point is it is no one is telling youths to burn herb you know that ….just like when you sing about getting drunk and disorderly no one is telling youths directly to drink and get drunk…. it is not sensored or any one saying that they should go up on stage and tell sparrow to stop singing his song which is a number one song internationally just like the songs that were sang on the 9th…

Listen We are Rastafarian’s we are herbalists naturalists… Speaking for myself I do not drink alchohol smoke cigarette or any of those I am a herbalist …not ashamed will never be ….alot of people do not like us because of history that stems from the 70s …and herb is one thing they can hang on to to prosecute I N I…. I have never heard of any one dying from herb use but I do know many that have died from the effects of smoking cigarette and alcohol …still you continue to promote them you make music that accomodate them……violence have sprung out sooooo many times over and over again because of it…and you know this ..still you want to find reason to criticize because we are not ashamed of who we are….That just don’t make sense in my head….why everyone don’t analyze things for them selves ……read ……..research…..tell me why is it when they need to do big festivals to make big monies politikal rallying of the population ,,Rastafarians music is what they use to make it happen to bring in the crowd ..Bob Marley everyone’s favourite singer got to have KAya , It is in three quarter of his songs ,Nasio’s Herb and loving what do you think they are talking about….they are all promoters of love and peace not sex and violence…

    Listen everyone
all this is insignificant all this ,,,what is important is to Live good and love high, This life is greater than you and me … Life is about finding the joy within urself and no one can give you that ..no one can find that for you…it comes from seeking the creator within not outside.. not thru the acceptance of anyone else but you….learn to raspect each other ,our differences are what makes us unique Sweciall….The real test is to learn to live together…then only then can we move unto the next realm or we will spend eternity criticizing and looking for fault in everything that is not done in the way we would like or prefer …

One perfect love Have a blessed one

    Nelly Stharre

That show was well organized and went well. Left a lot of patrons that attended well satisfied. We need more shows like that especially with our local Reggae artistes performing.

  8. January 12, 2010

im danejahdane 4m RE TV that show was the bomb but all in all people must not try to bring down a show like that Dominica have never seen a show of that magnitude form what ive heard and people would just dig for 1 negative if there were any just to talk bad about it come on Dominica support the vibes rebuild the nation big up to the promoters

The show was so affordable because the Jamaican artists donated their time and talent to the effort – they didn’t charge any performance fees… and Krazy Kokonuts donated the venue…that’s a whole heap of costs cut right there! Nuff respect to them for that… reggae bring back love.

I believe it is unacceptable that one of the artistes at the show sang a song promoting the use of marijuana and even asked his audience to chant the refrain (which essentially said hat he will consume marijuana) with him. The show’s main target was young persons and the purpose of the event was to raise money to help young persons who have behavioural problems such as drug misuse and abuse. That artiste should have been stopped.
