Below are photos of the the Miss Dominica 2013 contestants in swimsuit.
The Miss Dominica Pageant forms part of the island’s celebration of carnival.
The show is carded for February 8.
The contestants are Jeanne Royer, Melinda Ulysses, Kelshia Breezie, Fatima Noel, Nickisha Philbert, Leslassa Shillingford and Daina Mathew.

Seriously! These pics would not stand the editorial evaluation for billboard display in some countries, as they’ve been heavily tampered with. And it’s only now photo enhancement start in Dominica! Funny!
I am traveling from afar to spend carnival in Da. I won’t go near any show for fear of disappointment.
OTOH, I plan to enjoy j’ouvert!! I hope Dominican organizers still have j’ouvert to give those of us ‘christians’ our chance to bacchanal in secret

This may truly be the most beautiful crop of contestants. I am truly proud to say that these are representatives of the true beauty that resides in Dominica. Now let the talent, eloquence and character match the outward appearance.
But seeing their photos here as compared to seeing some of them on the street…lol. I saw one wearing ‘draggers’. They really need to start looking the part.
A beautiful face DO NOT make you a WINNER. Best dressed DO NOT make you a WINNER. Make up DO NOT make you a WINNER. When faced with questions, CONSTRUCTIVE questions, the time you take to answer without a second thought or mumbling, that is what make you a WINNER. Therefore, all of you, pageants, LISTEN carefully about the questions asked, do not take too long to answer, answer intelligently, and who knows the person with the least number of “LIKES” could very well win the competition.
I would surely hope that the winner get sponsored to the MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT.

You people love to criticise. First its the makeup, then the posing, then the background… The makeup in my opinion is perfect and it doesn’t look heavy at all… So hats off to the makeup artist!!! Secondly the girls… all seven of them are beautiful and intelligent beyond measure… and lastly… that backdrop is real people! Don’t you realize how beautiful your country is, even after the sun sets! Take time to appreciate your country then you won’t have time to criticise other people’s aspirations!

The sunset was not photoshopped….it was captured by the photographers. Everything that you see in this photo is real, save for the removal of a few blemishes from her face, individually. #BelieveItOrNot.

Daina, clearly has the best muscle tone, her swimwear compliments her physique perfectly. I dunno how she will do in the other rounds, but she has the swimwear for now. I’m still single, call me ;)
if mel is as smart and talented as she is beautiful she will be the next queen for sure.
I must say this is the most beautiful group of Dominican girls going up for the Carnival queen show in yearssssssssssssssssssssssssssss….. For a moment I thought there was a shortage of class and beauty in this Nature Isle…

melinda looks like a winner to me.
I like that the photographer kind of made these ladies appear centered in the photograph and that the background is just that a background. My ‘but’ comes in because I believe that too much photoshop in in those pictures to include the young ladies and the background. Why can’t people just take out authentic pictures without computer enhancement is beyond me. I’ll tell you one thing though it’s a grave disappointment to see someone in a picture looking one way and in person they aren’t as appealing. Why? Be cause the photograph is a lie or a misrepresentation! I preferred the pictures of the queens from years ago. Authenticity!
There’s nothing wrong with using photoshop, its what u use it for. In these pieces its clear that the photographer used photoshop ONLY, to enhance the richness and final quality of the photograph, lighting, color etc. This will render your argument invalid, for i can assure you that these ladies look just the same when you see them in higher definition (real life) cause there is no higher definition that you can achieve greater than your eyesight right? …. not a friend of the photographer hence you cant call me bias, just putting my 2cents
You not making any sense! I guess you’re probably studying law or philosophy so you want to question the validity of my statement. Well you have basis for your argument. My concern can’t be invalid because the photos have been improved by photoshop. Hence, the pictures are’t authentic representations of the original object of the picture.
BTW, the way the next time you try to practice your philosophy logic try someone a little slower than yourself or your fellow student as you’re not my equal in that department! Please and thankies!

I will take it down a notch cause clearly u don’t understand what i’m trying to say. “not everbody still have wind up camera that not doing nothing with rich color from real life. so they hardly use any photo shop here. plenty of it came from the camera itself.” (double negative/grammatical errors , just for you
). For the record i’m neither a philosophy nor am i a Law student.
Very little photoshop-ing was done, and a minute amount of retouching on these photos. For all intents and purposes the skin of all the girls appear as they did in the original photographs. The color was also created ‘in-camera’, created by they fading sunlight and added lighting on the day of the shoot. The most that was retouched were little blemishes and some unsightly things sticking out of the water. #TrueStory!

It doesn’t take a genius to see that kelsa breezie looks the hottest of the lot if I had to judge best in swimwear. Leslessa’s photo shoot isn’t too bad but she needs to relax a bit judging from the tension in her legs in the full photo. Diana has an amazing figure too. Its between Diana and Kelsa for me. Personally I think fuller busts make for a bigger figure.

All the girls look stunning, but Leslassa is effortlessly gorgeous. Perfect make up. Well done to her team and to the other team members and Queen Show Committee. Good luck girls. Remember 99% of Queen show attendees want you to make a mistake (faux pas) on the night. So do your best, practice hard, study hard, read alot, follow up on current affairs at home and internationally. All the best. This year looks like it will be a tough one for the judges as you are all very talented and intelligent. Go for it!

I must say the contestants are beautiful. However, this photo shoot( all rounds) has done nothing for them. Zero creativity and the shots were adequate at best.

The pics were taken at Janice ARmour place in Picard, Portsmouth Beach Hotel/La Flambeau Restaurant. It is exactly as the photo, no photoshop. If you saying the girls were edited well….dont know bout that but the jetty and sky is real.
Very little photoshop-ing was done, and even less retouching on these photos. The photos were shot at Sunset Bay in Coulibistrie/Salisbury on a real jetty, at sunset.
Stunning ladies and kudos to the stylists and photographers as well. These are excellent photos, in a different class to what we have seen for the show before.

These pictures were taken on an actual jetty, near an actual sea, at an actual sunset…believe it or not…
So why do they have the exact same cloud cover for each one…. U saying the sun stood still? click through the pics quickly u will see…
