The staging of Q95’s Second Annual Q Talent Search (QTS) has been met with high expectations of the participants, both from the CEO of Q95, Sheridon Gregoire, and QTS Talen Coach, Simeon Joseph.
Addressing the event’s official press launch, earlier today via the internet, Gregoire made special mention of the winner of the last instance of QTS, Asher Thomas, encouraging this year’s participants to strive to achieve what he has since the conclusion of the competition in December 2010.
Gregoire said, “We are proud to be working with Asher on his first album and he is on the way to achieve great things, once he keeps on reaching out for excellence. This press launch today is a tangible manifestation that Q95 is committed to its mission to discover and promote the best Dominican singers. We will continue to celebrate Asher as we journey through this QTS. We will be there for [him] and for every other QTS winner, as long as [QTS continues].”
Talent Coach of QTS, Simeon Joseph promises that this year’s competition will be of a higher standard and that the competitive spirit is high.
“Last year, we saw the competition and sometime I was awestruck to see the level of talent that came out, the display of talent by the young people. And this year, I would like to say one thing, that having worked with the competitors last year and working with the competitors this year, I can tell the public that they can expect something on a much higher level, because of the fact that there’s a lot of pure raw talent out there, that the potential for a grand show is there,” Joseph assured.
QTS has received a generous outpouring of support from the local business community as well. A host of corporate partners have teamed up with Q95 and headline sponsor LIME for the event, including Arden Sounds, ComeSeeTV, Big Ben and Party Dominica.
On August 20, thirty-two talented singers, selected from the on-air audition, will perform at the show’s first eliminations on the Bayfront, the public launch of QTS, from which twenty-two will be selected to perform at the quarterfinals on September 1.
