Seven princesses eager to hit the stage for Ti Matador title

“A great show with spectacular guest performances” is what has been promised for the Ti Matador 2010 pageant scheduled for Saturday at the Krazy Kokonuts.

The Performing Arts Workshop will present  seven primary school princesses  to vie for the coveted  title this year.

The young ladies are: Addisa Jno Baptiste of the St Martin Primary School, Aniel Pacquette of the Grand Bay Primary School, Mia Jones from the Convent Preparatory School, Michanda Dorsette of the Will Strathmore  Stevens Primary School, Shaihda Francios of the Paix Bouche Primary School, Sherniah Alexander of the St Luke’s Primary School and Tajuana Honore of the Tibault Primary School.

They will compete in Performing Arts, National Wear, Creole Spectacular Wear and Pawol Creole rounds.

Main organiser Jacinta David said that preparations have been good so far and the young ladies are eager to hit the stage.

She told DNO that special guest performances will come from the reigning Junior Calypso Monarch and the St Luke’s Primary School. Peter Prosper will be the MC for the event.

The show starts at 3 p.m. and costs $10 at the gate.

I love the fact that they have the ‘Patois’ section. I think Patois should be taught in our schools because is obviously is a big part of our culture.

This is one of the things that Dominica has on the other islands our strong cultural background.
It is great that we start the awareness from the primary level or even lower that way we nurture a proud heritage.

Love it. congratulations to the organisers. And all the best to all the competitors.
