Vendors of 14th WCMF to bring something ‘different’ to the table – DFC

The vendors that will be a part of this year’s World Creole Music Festival has something different in mind for patrons, says Events Director of the Dominica Festival Committee Natalie Clarke.

She said the vendors will be allowed to showcase not just the diversity of their menus but the creative approach to their stalls as well.

“We are all going to be in for a slightly different interval, of which the festival usually has four intermissions. Those four intermissions will be a little bit different than what we are used to,” Clarke teased.

Vice Chairman of the DFC Sobers Esprit said: “We are pleased once again to be working very closely with our vendors. These are not just service providers, they are partners in the railways because for us to survive an event at that nature we have to have strong partnerships.”

Representing the vendors that will participate in this month end’s event was Athenia Henry who said 2010 is an exciting time for the vendors of the Creole Music Festival.

“The vendors are geared up and ready to present a grand menu. A diverse menu of some of our traditional foods,” Henry said.

The vendors’ spokeswoman said there are great expectations – new and exciting challenges that will happen at the venue this year and assured that the vendors are prepared and ready to present the patrons with a truly cultural culinary experience.

Henry reminded that the vending of Dominican cuisines has always been a critical component to the Creole Festival.

“This year we are hoping that the Creole Festival will not only be about promoting the music but that patrons could come back for that culinary experience,” she said.
