Hello and good evening my people. Why can’t we have King Dice on the program when he’s the most prolific entertainer sweet Dominica ever produce and he’s the reigning King. Show respect to the King of our soil.

    • Crispin John
      October 5, 2016

I second that suggestion. I think King Dice is an amazing poet with some of the best calypso lyrics DA have ever heard. Especially when he talk about our politions. I also like King rabbit.

you all complaining about line up.what is the damage per night ? that is the question to ask. Line up does not put money in your pocket to attend the shows nightly .Is there a reduction in the entrance fee, seeing that the govt put in an additional one (1) million dollars in sponsorship.

I’m wondering how much Morgan Heritage, Wyclef and Akon have already earned from our WCMF? All that cash goes overseas with them AND how many times do you need to recycle these acts?? If we’re going to give artists big money, you may as well change things up!
    Just sayin’

Haha pressure on Kkk. But undeniably they have a large following. They have to cater for everyone.
I don’t see the lineup as impressive. Quite recycled. Nothing fresh or jaw dropping. Mediocre.

We all have our crap opinions and that’s exactly what I reading.

On Matt today this annoying raytaytay lady called making noise about Dice. Calypso sounds odd out of season. That’s just reality.

Wyclef? When was his last hit. I hope is 5c they paying him. Check the man history.
    Akon ? Passay

    Morgan…Ophelia…Michelle…recycled…

you all need to change that name of DOMINICA CREOLE MUSIC FESTIVAL. when u all have a set of Jamaican and others that don’t understand a piece of creole …. so I suggest you change it to DOMINICA MUSIC FESTIVAL

    • SMH
      June 24, 2016

it’s actually WORLD CREOLE MUSIC FESTIVAL. meaning music from around the WORLD. creole meaning a mixture.. smh

IT HAVE MORE LOCAL ARTISTS THAN ANYTHING ELSE…NONSENSE

    • Crispin John
      October 5, 2016

Think of it for a second. Don’t you believe that’s one of the most creative way to bring more exposure to our culture? I think so. I work for General Motors, and I have another manager who works there and want to be at the festival with a couple of her friends next year. I think we need to get a big name artist from North American in the near future.

  15. June 23, 2016

It’s OK to plan but like last year WMCF will be canceled for the same reasons Skerrit gave for the 2015 cancelation. In fact expect a worse than erika just before WMCF, as lawlessness, injustice, corruption continue to prevail

  16. Good line up…but maybe we should keep the same or similar genres on the same night so that people who want to see Popcaan, Gentleman, Wyclef, Akon, Timaya, etc, do not have to wait for hours listening to other genres of music that they may not be interested in or simply can’t get into before they get to see the one or two artists that they paid to see. Don’t crucify me it’s just a thought…I’m a DOCTOR not a MUSIC PROMOTER afterall!

Akon, Wyclef, Tripple K? like one person said, you cannot please all the people but I am not sure about these 3. If you want to get people to come from all over the place, bring in Damian Marley, Rihanna, or Beenie Man some artist like that. I know they would make a difference. I am not sure how many people want to see Akon or Wyclef or listen to that thing triple k call music. I think the festival is loosing steam. Now for the good, this is still going to be the biggest festival ever since many people are going to come to see what happened to Dominica during Erika, so if nothing else, people will come for that but not because the lineup is all that good.

    June 23, 2016

That is a great lineup trust me, but I’ll wait some time b4 I can buy a season ticket after the whole Movado fiasco. for the Triple kay haters they are a BIG band in other countries for eg Antigua. support your local countryman and stop all this hate.

    • Tjebe Fort
      June 23, 2016

You are being sarcastic, aren’t you? Antigua has 91,000 people but that is still only 3.5% of Brooklyn, which is part of New York and you calling Antigua a big country? But if you only know Dominica with72,000 I suppose it must look big to you.

      • Dolce Vita
        June 23, 2016

I said Triple Kay is a “BIG BAND IN OTHER COUNTRIES” monkey I never said anything about Antigua being a big country. go back to primary school to learn reading comprehension again you’re one of those big black crabs in the barrel. First WCMF I went to was too see Wyclef at that time he was popping and the performance was good hopefully it’s good again…. Saw Timaya last year in Barbados and I really wasn’t impress because he sang the same song probably 13 times… So I hope from last year to now he has a body of work that is good enough to sing for us here in Dominica… The only disappointment is no carimi or kassav…

    • Padna from Zicack...
      June 23, 2016

Actually Grand Mechant Zouk is really Kassav and friends…

    June 23, 2016

There are too many acts on the festival. This line although it has some huge acts looks overdone. Eight acts on Friday, 8 acts on Saturday and 6 acts on Sunday. I know the government is trying to make up for the poor decision to cancel the festival last year but this long lineup does not augur well for the festival. Bugging up the fringe events could be more useful.

        June 23, 2016

Well world creole music is also for us the mature older folks. AND WE MARRY THE GIRL charlie is our calypso so what? We liked it 30 years ago and will like it 30 years from now. Cant say the same for your music, so please respect. Its our type of music and we are not tired of it. WORLD creole music should be for the young and the older. So triple k can be on but dont insult us for wanting the band of our time…the First Serenade band. Even Ti orchest too. OUR bands. We never get tired of those beat up foreign artist who have passed their time. How many Dominican artist get to perform in Jamaica? Poeple love your own.

      • fed up
        June 23, 2016

Stop the insult. World creole music is our event and should promote our musicians and the likes of the different age groups. Our age group prefers the milder music of the First serenade band. Calypso is our music. SO WHATS WRONG WITH YOU MARRY THE GIRL CHARLIE. They have contributed much to Dominica ‘ s music. Their music was loved 30 years ago and it will be loved 30 years from now. Thats musical talent. I cant say the same for your type of music. So please do not disrespect the preference of us the mature folks. Its time we take less beat up foreign artist also less Jamaican artist. HOW many Dominican artist have performed in Jamaica? Why havent triple k performed in Jamaica? I say FIrst Serenade band and Ti Orchest should have been on the line up.

    • I say so
      June 22, 2016
