“Love and Unity” is how the Woodfordhill Reunion Committee has themed its first major reunion promotional event slated for the weekend in Dominica’s North East.
The event, which is being organised by the committee through Promo agents Extradm.com, will take the form of a road-show which is carded to begin in the community of Castle-Bruce on Saturday 30th May 2015.
Coordinator of the activities, Alvin Alexander, said the efforts of the committee and its members, friends and villagers, at home and abroad, will be displayed in full when the event gets into high gear.
“The road-show, which is set to take the villagers of Woodfordhill into the rest of the North- Eastern belt, will introduce reunion efforts of that community,” he said. “They will also seek to invite the participation of all the neighbouring villagers at these organised events. Among these events will be entertainment activities, education, unity events and an opportunity to give back to patrons, community and the returning children of Woodfordhill.”
He said that efforts will continue towards the build-up to Woodfordhill Reunion 2015, under the theme “Promoting love and unity for a better community”.
He stated further that Saturday’s road-show will feature community stops in eight villages in the Northeast with the 2015 Miss Reunion contestants, volunteers and prominent youths of Woodfordhill.
“The activity will culminate in Woodfordhill with a grand official presentation of the Pageant contestants and calendar of events for the upcoming reunion with entertainment will follow,” Alexander noted.
He continued, “We are on the road to inspire people into being part of us. We want to be clear that Woodfordhill does have what it takes to continue advancing the cause of human, social and national development on the island, We want it to be recognised that we are one of the significant contributors in historical aspects of the north-east and national economy and that we are prepared to lead the way in confronting social issues by our example of a well-placed reunion celebration event.”
He added, “Further the intention of this is to spread the word not only that the Woodfordhill reunion is on the way and that the skills and inspiration needed for an uncompromising movement to defend and restore community love and Koud men, exist in us all if we would apply Love and Unity !”
Several Community and reunion committee officials are expected to address patrons at Saturday’s event.
The reunion itself will be celebrated from July 10 to July 19 at the Reunion Village in Woodfordhill.
I will be there, I doubt that my family will be able to accompany me. I’m looking forward to it.
