Promotional tickets to the 17th Edition of the World Creole Music Festival will go on sale from Friday 27th September.

The tickets will be made available to the public at a reduced cost of $250.

Events Assistant at the Dominica Festival Committee, Marva Williams, revealed that the tickets will go on sale at the first Friday Dwivay for the season carded for September 27th at the Krazy Kokonutz.

“Our first dwivay is scheduled for next week Friday and what we are doing this year is linking everything,” she said on Wednesday. “It is the independence celebrations and the festival forms an integral part of that. The Cultural Division will be officially launching the independence activities on that day from 6pm to 9pm and at 9pm, we will bring the crowd to the Krazy Kokonutz for the first official dwivay.”

The dwivay is expected to feature Digital Vibes, Ti Orkest and Triple Kay Global.  These events will continue every Friday until the week before the festival.

The Dominica Festivals Committee will also be hosting a “Ticket Train” or road show and tickets will also be sold to the public via this medium.

“The first road show will be the 28th of September and it is heading to Marigot,” Williams explained. “We are asking everyone along this route to meet us at Last Flight Bar and Grill in Marigot where they will receive special prizes and offers.”

The road show, like the dwivays, will continue every Saturday leading up to the festival in the communities of Marigot, Grandbay and Portsmouth.

“Find out information about the fringe events of the World Creole Music Festival and support. Your support leads to the success or failure of the festival,” Williams said.

Facilitate us with no hassle flight to Dominica and we will create an explosion with ticket buying. Due to the bad press regarding the hassle getting to Dominica has caused many persons to cancelled their flights into Dominica. Do something its not to late. At least for our $8,ooo,ooo. investment we deserved hassle free travel to D/CA.

I agree with you. It made me laugh too. You are a wise one to remind them of the $8,000,000 investment.
Thinking of this, seriously, LIAT is something else to have received funding from different CARICOM islands and it still could not provide proper service. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth (so-to-speak) and in my mind about LIAT’s poor service.
I hate to state this. LIAT should really shut down its service since it is unable to deliver proper service for its passengers. Another airline should take over.

What did I tell you all? Next year hold back till at least four weeks before the festival and you will all get a bargain. I’m not getting tricked again buying my ticket early, no sir!

 JoJo its you again! If everyone had the identical idea they would not sell tickets early. The idea of selling tickets early is to give them an idea how many people will be attending. If no one bought tickets early, it would be considered a flop.
Early Bird prices, two or three should be given for purchasing tickets early. Then, if there are tickets left, they could be sold cheaper than the original cost.

This is 2013 and after 15 years still no offering online of any kind of tickets whatsover? When will this festival be truly global?

It costs money to do this. Ever thought of it? There is DNO, TV, Radio and Newspaper in Dominica. Are these not sufficient? Most people listen to the radio.
Some people do like to wait the last minute to purchase tickets. They still have the movie/ theatre and other entertainment as dances mentality, pay at the door.
These days some even wait the last minute to fly or to go on a cruise, hoping they will get a reduced rate. Today, this appears to be the norm.
