Dr. Darroux stresses dangers of climate change

Dr. Darroux said Dominica must protect itself from climate change

Minister of Health and the Environment, Dr. Kenneth Darroux says Dominica must position itself to protect its population from the threat of climate change.

He made that statement while addressing a National Stakeholder Consultation on Climate and Health Vulnerability and Adaptation Assessment held at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) building on Wednesday.

“Dominica must position itself to adapt, to protect its population over the overwhelming threat of climate change,” he said. “And these impacts of climate change on health will depend on many factors. These factors include the effectiveness on a community’s public health and safety systems, to address or prepare for the risk and the behavior, age, gender and economic status of individuals affected.”

According to Dr. Darroux, climate variability and change pose significant challenges to societies and countries worldwide.

“In fact climate change has been considered one of the, if not one of the biggest, single biggest threat to human kind for the past century or so and Dominica is no exception,” he said. “Because of our topography and most of the infrastructural located along the coast, we are very much vulnerable to the rising sea levels…so Dominica, I think, is rated in the first ten in terms of the most vulnerable countries in the world as it relates to climate change.”

Additionally, Darroux said, over the years, weather events are becoming more extreme and is a great strain on the country’s resources.

“What this means every time there is an unforeseen weather event, tremendous resources are going to be needed to clean up after these events,” he noted.

He said these resources could go towards “new developments.”

Darroux stated further that weather and climate conditions also have strong influences on the occurrence and distribution of some of the most important infectious diseases such as diarrhea  malaria and other vector-borne and water-borne diseases.

He stated that most importantly weather and climate affects the natural ecological services that underpin population health including the availability of fresh water and agricultural production.

“So these extreme weather events and climate variability and long-term climate change pose important challenges to the performance and management of health systems and healthcare,” he noted. “This risk must be taken seriously and we should spare no effort at all levels to systematically manage the risks which climate variability and change will have on the health sector.”

Dominica is one of the first countries to undertake this type of consultation.

The Assessment of the Climate Change project being undertaken costs in excess of $100,000.

The consultation focuses on three main areas including vectors, food and water-borne diseases and the developed adaptation measures to lessen the possible impact of diseases on the population.

The warming is caused by the military planes spraying chemical substances such as aluminum oxides, barium, strontium and other substances which are blocking out the sun, causing 20% less sunlight to reach the earth (at this point and it will be getting darker and hazier in the future), causing fallout of these chemicals which contaminate everyone and everything on earth, causes respiratory problems and allergies, causes a trapping of air which can no longer escape into the atmosphere and thus causes the warming that they say they are combating. It is also reducing at a slow rate the amount of oxygen that you have available to breathe and as well destroying the atmosphere around the earth. Nothing can grow or survive successfully without the sun on planet earth. This is a program that is being carried out by the US Air Force worldwide with their various bases in conjunction with the UN and globalist agenda. Wake up and start protesting or in 20 years, very little will be alive.

So much poverty in our beautiful Dominica today! Look at our Ministers in Government they are getting so physically fat. Darroux is a good example of this his photograph testify’s to it! Getting rich on the back of the people!! Why write futile ridiculous articles! The new Bath Estate development. No air can move between those apartments. It is not at all well thought out. The folks who will move in there will be so hot and they probably will not be able to afford the electricity, they will sit and sweat. Those apartments were built for the city the same design for the new hospital. This is madness, the buildings are not designed properly for the heat of the Caribbean. Foolish, foolish foolish!

How very funny! It is OK, the money made from selling passports all over the world will cover any environmental change here in Dominica! With a ear to the ground, we hear the red clinic will soon be donating a great deal of the passport money to the people of Dominica! The higher up people in the Government have made so much money that it cannot be laundered anymore…………………………………….. So now all the people of Dominica will benefit!! Halleluiah We can all party. Thank you all so much!

The washing is now hanging on the line!

Why are we worried about climate change we should worry about feeding our selves, than worry about what these crack ports are telling us about the world is coming to an end. Here we go again listening to the slave masters. Do we come up with any idea of our own from the university of the westindes. Tell are now pushing irish potatoes on us , what are we learning from their college to promote our own product. Sooner or later they will say all root vegatables are bad for you, and without doing our own testing we will believe them like they did us with coconuts.

The bankers now own the govt. and the revenue as well as the financial institutions of DA. Listen to the PM’s message from the bankers to Parliament last week.

So these extreme GEP’s and the events since 2004 events and population variability( unemployment & the RED CLINIC) and other long-term political change pose important challenges to the future and management of our political system and sociology,” he ought to have noted. “This risk must be taken seriously and we should spare no effort at all levels to systematically destroy the risks which the GEP’s forced upon us and change will have on the future of the Commonwealth of DA .”

Darroux shold have stated further that greed due to early life’s experiences need no and lack of empathy. self worth etc also have strong influences on the occurrence and creation of some of the most important infectious monsters such as opportunists poto No-DLP/DFPites ( like in termies) Red Clinic frequentors and other social -vector-borne and wateParty-borne diseases.

Minister of Health and the Environment, Dr. Kenneth Darroux should have said Dominica must position itself to protect its population from the threat of Neo-DLP/DFP rouge Establishment. in addition to climate change. “Dominicans must take massive action to protect its population over the overwhelming threat of this new breed of politicians who seem to be genetically engineered by opportunists.( Genetically engineered crops on our supermarket shelves well packaged but useless & carcinogenic to D/ca’s wellbeing mentally and physically and we know it but still consume these politically foodless foods/politicians of poor pedigree, shameless, ,by-products of avert poverty in their early lives & now of the mind.

Blah…Blah…Blah…Has Dominica passed a the Climate Change Law yet? Is there a Department of Environment and Climate Change? After 5 years of being Minister of the Environment, it is still all talk…
Hon. Darroux should stop reading from the paper and start implementing some positive acting that will increase Dominica’s resilience to Climate Change. It is time to stop talking and attending conferences, and start putting money where your mouth is.
    Action speaks louder than words.

Move people from those areas right on the front of the sea, where they should not be in the first place! And stop using our people’s poverty and vulnerability to winkle money out of gullible donors to set up non-productive pseudo government bodies that look after themselves first, while some in power are selling our birthright to fatten their overseas bank accounts. You are crying too much like Philistines. Talk less, take of your tie and jacket, roll up your sleeves and start working! Set the example.

This is timely for an Island State like DA.
Forgive me for stating this: I am looking @ the photo, it strikes me hard to note that most / nearly all of the participants are either overweight or frankly obese.
What is happening? Let’s eat right and keep moving the wonderful body the good Lord blessed us with. A healthy habit is wealth.

Before we were told it is “global warming, but they realized the ridiculousness of it all.Now they called it “climate change.”
I am still glad when Dominica receives money to fight, as they say climate change.

      So, what causes climate change?

Is it not global warming: most scientist concluded that global warming is the cause of climate change, the only people who refuse to accept that are the Republican politicians in America whom for political reason makes belief that global warming is not real!

The question have and I would like an answered from Darroux: what does he, and his government has to contribute to the world that will help to curtail global warming, and the effects of global warming? It is all good and well for some people to shoot off their mouth, but if there is no substance to their thoughts, they would be better off if they keep their mouth shut!

The industrial world are the contributors to global warming; major culprit is China, perhaps since Dominica is now a province of China that makes us a contributor.

Remember one thing: Science has now become a religion. Think of it in that context. What people thought was true science 10 years ago is no longer true science. We don’t know the truth as yet. Theories that we thought were true, are no longer true although they are taught in school still as being valid.

DA is now being hit big time by this geo-engineering. Look up at the sky. It is no longer true blue. Look at all of the haze on the coast and the ocean. This is a result of the chemicals from the planes. Look up Dominicaexperiment 2011 (DOMEX2011), but it really started in 2007.

“Kenneth Darroux says Dominica must position itself to protect its population from the threat of climate change.” (Darroux).

“Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Harold Guiste, has said the ministry is positioning itself to target high value markets in the neighbouring islands of (Guiste)

Note there is something in common between the circus actors: What do they have on common?

    Dominica must position itself.(Darroux).

Harold Guiste, has said the ministry is positioning itself to target (Guiste).

Both position, and positioning, are basically one of the same; so that impress me their script writer is one of the same, either that or it could be a coincident. I rule any coincidental! On the other hand I chalenge Darroux to inform me what can he do to protect Dominica population from Global warming? Dominica contributes nothing to global warming!

Fet ! just like northerners speak cocoy ( and you do) this is a lingo of a society a culture. As sociology defines Culture as a complex whole which make a community what it is. Language dance ,music , food, etc makes the identity and yes culture. Do you recall the New mix up DLP use of God is Good everytime and God is good all the time? (Until they got rich) this is no longer in use. Then they have Stakeholders, once upon a time (not too long ago they had the expression to the next level like they call their show?
Now it’s positioning self for everything I assume positioning to shaft the population above all.
Hahahahahahahaha I doh calling name!!!! LMAO & really really Loud.

Amassing is it not? That reminds me of whom I will simply identify as a Klan so as to spear me been accused of discrimination: anyway, when I was a kid riding to Roseau on those old Bedford “bus trucks” the wooden fuselage was constructed with three entrance one on each side, and the open rear!

We would stop to pick up the members of the Klan, if there were fifty of them boarding that truck, and one member chose the left side to enter, the remaining forty-nine would follow, no matter what even if someone introduce them to the other two pathway.

These politicians in Dominica operate the same way as if they are all scripted. More than five years ago Skerrit said “I am going to take Dominica to the next level.” Last year he told the people “I am going to transform Dominica;” both word means precisely the same thing, and got away with such nonsense.

His script was written by the same person probably Hartley who simply invert his same words.

Fet Global warming, Climate change whaterever we call it call it as we will. Is still warming.
Joke is DA has had a kind of warming since 2004 called Skerrit warming Phenomenon when all cat human & dog became yes men. If you wanna call it Skerrit or Medard warming is okay I call it Kissing it warming.
The sad thing about this Phenomenon in DA is it is real whilst scientists are debating if global warming /climate change is real.
can someone tickle me or slap me in the face? I wanna wake up as am hoping it’s all a dream that a once great island has retrogressed in 14 yrs. It is real retrogression.

Whenever I see or hear the exceptional Ministers of the Labour Party Government I feel extremely proud to be a Dominican and a die-hard Labourite. Dr. Darroux’s contribution to the discussion on Climate Change is so eloquent and potent that one just cannot deny the fact that there is only one party capable of running the affairs of the Country. His Holiness, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit has chosen the best of the best and the brightest to share the serious responsibility of governing this beautiful Island. Dr. Darroux’s contribution is crystal clear and need not be expounded. It is exactly these exceptional qualities that makes this blessed Labour Party Government so loved and respected locally and internationally. It seems like we will be seeing at least 35 more years of Labour Power without a doubt.
