A broad area of low pressure centered just north of the Virgin Islands continues to produce instability across the Lesser Antilles. Clusters of scattered/heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to affect the Islands today.
Showers and thunderstorms associated with this system have changed slightly during the past few hours. The system has a high chance of becoming a tropical depression during the next day or two as upper level winds are expected to become more favourable for development.
Some outbreaks of moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms can be expected over Dominica and some of the Windward Islands this afternoon an tonght. Sea conditions should gradually improve as the day progresses.
Meanwhile showers and thunderstorms associated with a weak area of low pressure located about 950 miles east of the Lesser Antilles remains disorganized. Development of this disturbance is not expected due to strong upper level winds. We will continue to monitor this sytem as it moves north north westwards at 5 to 10 mph.

@2 cents: hmmm I think they can work together don’t you…DNO can have a direct feed from their site everyday. that way there can be traffic to both DNO and weather.gov.dm….I hardly think weather.gov.dm will mind since that site is hardly known…this is the first time I’m finding out about it…
@only: “only” are u a simpleton?? With this rainy weather u expect dowasco to keep the water system open…u want me and others to drink mud water…or to bath in that?? maybe u not like some of us who cherish the body we have…
weather for leather!
LOL
@Curious C: i agree…but weather.gov.dm ppl might feel bad cause DNO will get all their attn. Thanks for the update though DNO!
The weather is one thing…..DWASCO shutting off the water when it rains is something else.
How many other people are tired of that?
Or are people so complacent and conditioned that they think that they have to put up with it?
No wonder cruise ships are pulling out. Restaurants and other business’ downtown are hampered when this occurs.
Great stuff DNO – keeping us informed as usual – thumbs up!
think it would be a good idea if DNO had a weather forcast section…Local weather preferably
