European countries recognize Venezuelan opposition leader as ‘interim president’

Juan Guaido

A number of EU countries have moved to formally recognize Venezuela’s opposition leader as its acting president.

Spain, France, Germany, the UK, Austria, Sweden, Denmark and Lithuania this morning announced the coordinated move.

Russia was quick to condemn the decision – warning that it amounts to foreign meddling in domestic Venezuelan affairs and calling for the people of Venezuela to be allowed to resolve the political crisis there.

The European countries had pledged to make the announcement if the country’s President Nicolas Maduro failed to call fresh presidential elections within an eight-day period.

Hello and good afternoon my people. When the people in Catolania,, Spain held their referendum and voted to secede from Spain did the European Union recognized them. Can anyone show me when did Guaido ran for and won an election for president of Venezuela. America have big investigation in regards to the Russians helping Trump win the presidency but all America does is interfere in other country internal politics. Muduro won the election therefore he’s the president of the country and if they want to remove him the people should wait for the next president election. America alway point their fingers at other country but they never look at themselves because if they does they will see they are corrupted . Look at all the refugees they cause in Europe because of their military intervention in the Middle East. The United Nation have to hold America accountable for their war crimes they committed in the Middle East and Africa.

Tony look at the terrorism in the world. Those who want to tell Venezuelans what to do cannot stop Taliban or ISSIS because they do not want to. They could black list, derisk and stop food conseignment to stave Venezuelans but they cannot stop arms ammunition and money and food from reaching torrorists. They even have home grown terrorism. Maybe the do not want to . Their actions seem is just token when it comes to terrorism.
They do not even know how to deal with Brexit. The British people democratically DEMOCRATICALLY VOTED to get out in a referendum,REFERENDUM. The people said let us be gone and what has happened UP TO NOW. But they are champions of democracy. Exactly like the Spanish case you quoted above.
Remember when women could not vote. Only in 1920 they were “given” their right to vote. What about black people who were allowed to vote only in the 1960’s. What about all the African andaasian countries who had to fight to regain their independence. Their soldiers

Their soldiers went to war and die for their independence from Hitler but when they return home the were back to colonial servitude. We fought for their democracy but was denied ours in our own country.
They are the ones who deported these problems to Venezuela in the first place because they did not like Socialist Chavez who was exposing them and who took control of his oil resources.

I hope some Dominicans have come to comprehend what “SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES ” looks and feels like . Africans and Indigenous people’s of this Americas , continue to be subjugated in all ISMS . US American regime change policies do not happen overnite , in Venezuela’s case , it took 20yrs . Condoliza Rice initiated regime change during the Bush jr 8yr rule , Chavez was killed under Obama’s watch , and Trump is hoping to carry the baton across the finish line . Some people are really disingenuous , saying and writing things that have no continuance . The position taken by the Caricom Leaders must be applauded , the US motto ,”if you are not with me , you are my enemy ” have had its impact in Iraq, Libya , Syria , Yemen , and now Venezuela . Should we all not say enough is enough ? in today’s Globalization and Conquest , saying NO , will cost you your life . The Irony of it all , is that a vast Number of Dominican’s at home and abroad , supports this negative .

What about the Venezuelan people. Don’t they get to choose their leaders. How can USA and Europe impose a leader on a country then sanction Russia for yet to be proven interference in USA, Ukraine.

The people where denied a fair election and where force to take to the streets and demonstrate. I assume this make it clear, even to a seasoned red clinic member, which one they would rather have as president

“What about the Venezuelan people. Don’t they get to choose their leaders.”

No, that’s the whole point. Maduro knew he’d lose a free and fair election so he didn’t hold one.

Steve, how could there be or not be free and fair election if the opposition boycotted the election in the first place ?
How can Europe recognize the opposition first, then give the president one week to call a new election. somethings are not adding up.

exactly. some people with hidden motives are causing confusion usuing the opposition as a weapon. As usual they are trying to get nationals to kill each other so that they can step in and grab and devide the spoils of war.
