France, Spain, Germany give Maduro 8 days’ deadline

Maduro speaking on national television

Germany, France and Spain said they are ready to recognise Juan Guaido as Venezuela’s interim president if elections are not called within eight days, the Associated Press (AP) has reported.

According to AP, President Emmanuel Macron tweeted Saturday in French and Spanish that “the Venezuelan people should be able to freely decide their future.” He said France is working with European partners to encourage a “political process” that would solve Venezuela’s leadership crisis.

The news agency also reports Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez as saying that unless Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro calls for new elections within eight days, Spain will recognise opposition leader Guaido as the legitimate president of the South American country.

Did those leaders give Trump any length if time for him to vacate toe office for Hillary to be reignited as the true president. Into the third year of Trump Presidency and investigations unto his president is still ongoing. Who gave him the authority to police the world? Why therefore can Russia or china seek to assume that role? What are we benefiting as a country from America? Nothing compared to what we receive drum Venezuela or Cuba. Let us therefore stay out of other countries internal affairs. America’s interest in Venezuela is not the well being of the people. They are after Venezuela’s oil like they did in Iraq, Iran, Libya and other countries where they can benefit at the people’s expense.

As an American citizen who has traveled to Dominica many times over the past few decades I would like to encourage the people of Dominica to never forget what a truly special place you have inherited in this world. The very best parts of your country have very little to do with your politics. The kindness and warmth of your people and the natural beauty of your island will always draw people back. It is -20 degrees (F) in Chicago today. That helps! The people of Dominica are Free. In many respects, you have more freedom than the people of the United States. Our freedom is regulated away from us with a thousand small cuts. I think we can all agree that democratic principles are central to the protection of all of our freedoms. Together, we are watching the struggle for liberty, democracy and prosperity in Venezuela. Venezuela has been a good friend to Dominica. That should be respected. My hope for Venezuela and Dominica is for a peaceful and respectful struggle for true democracy.

Didn’t the OECS countries and Barbados after the failed uprising in St Vincent, with the help of the USA set up a rapid response force? So we’re they going to remain on the shores of their respective countries with bullhorns and shout at those who had tried to overthrow the government in a member country to back off. Hell no!!! That would make no sense, so clearly they were planning to send that force into some country to put down an uprising. Now, these fools are only breathing out national sovereignty and territorial integrity non-sense. I pity those fools in power now. They are sending a clear signal that they would do the same as Maduro to remain in power in their countries. Are countries except for America, ruled by black people destined to remain the backwater areas of this world? What a damn shame and we point fingers at what others are doing to us. Remember three fingers are pointing back at you for every one finger you point. Dummies.

It’s about time that something solid and by a lot of powerful countries is done to assist the suffering people of Venezuela who have been having their hell on earth at the hands of Maduro and other weak corrupt leaders of Caricom. They like ignorant uneducated people keep hiding under the drunken mantra of national sovereignty. They even oppose the mighty US in pursuit of their ALBA. One cannot help the other but they are beating their chests about nonintervention. Wasn’t these same countries who during the cold war between the US and the USSR who begged President Reagan to intervene in Grenada, when they all belonged to the nonaligned movement. Seems that now that there are more university educated people in and from the region is the more stupid we have gotten. I know that countries need to respect each others territory but when things gave broken down really bad something gas to be done. I give my full support to all countries joining in the effort to remove Maduro

The situation is Venezuela is very sad and the bad thing is, it is getting worse by the minute. People of Dominica my heart bleeds for the people of Venezuela but even worse, the situation reminds me of the song of Chobee and the ‘Midnight Groovers’ about “Samwen doovan me swe deyer” which is translated “Mine today but yours tomorrow.” People of Dominica, that’s where he are heading. It’s the same policies of Maduro Skerrit and the DLP are implementing here. They have shut down our work places like Ross University, our banana farms, Bello, the cocoanut product and many more, just to ensure we are left poor and must turn to him for survival. We see them arresting those that speak out against their evils and what happened to Trevor Johnson yesterday is a reminder that we are not heading Venezuela way but we are already there. If Skerrit returns for anpother term folks I can tell you that before 2020, what we see in Venezuela will be Dominica next, So people I am warning you all…

so it is nuh? other countries can just say who they want to lead and force you to call your elections? I am not a UWP or a LAborite, but i respect the office of my PM. America and FRance and all them other imperialists cannot come and say is Lennox they recognizing as my PM and they giving skerrit 8 days to call election. AWA! i would encourage every dominican at home and abroad to give these countries the finger. Sovereignty has no meaning if that is the case. IDK what Maduro doing or not doing in Venezuela, that is not my case to argue, but in short encouraging and financing a coup is terrorism in itself. Look at Libya, Syria, Iraq for example, this is what they have done in all these countries. Keep in mind, alll these countries are laden with oil. Venezuela just happens to have the biggest oil reserve. that is why they have been trying to gain control of this country since Hugo Chavez

…and you are trying to tell us you are not a Labourite? Oh please pull the other one! If you are not a Labourite you most certainly are a SKERRITE and no doubt a paid up member of the cabal as well.

      • Karl Orndem
        January 28, 2019

I have never voted for a laborite. Nor do i hold Skerrit in high regard. I do not refer to anyone as Comrad nor do i go to ANY political meetings or gatherings. I have great disdain for politicians and at times even greater disdain for aspiring politicians. People like you, are the kind who only see black and white. as if to insinuate that if i speak against lennox i am a laborite. Or if i criticize the government i am a uwp. People with this dumb mindset is what sets our country back. the level of ignorance. In truth Neville, like it or not, Roosevelt Skerrit IS dominica’s PM. That is a fact. whether you support pappy, lennox, kent or roosevelt. you can be supporting santa clause for PM, the fact is that Chavez is the elected President of Venezuela regardless of who the outside powers prefer. if this makes no sense to you Neville, then i fear even more for my country, as more and more fools like you open your mouths and remove all my doubts. every country gets the govt it deserves.

Karl, I know all about guys like you and where they come from. Always sitting on the fence! You are just as much guilty of Dominica’s problems as all red clinic members that sell their votes every five years. By the way, ‘socialism’ has never worked and it will never work because in essence it’s nothing but a dictatorship mixed with pie in the sky equality promises. Socialism only works for the few at the top and the others live in modern slavery. And you support that…!

        MAduro*..not Chavez is the President.

    • Sense out of nonsense
      January 28, 2019

Another ignorant person… Juan Guaido has been part of the opposition for years. He was recently elected president of the LEGITIMATE national assembly, the one that was VOTED in an ELECTION to a SUPER MAJORITY by the venezuelan people in 2015 despite high levels of fraud, bribery and intimidation.

Maduro’s regime made the national assembly invalid in 2017 through a vote that was rigged according to the DESIGNERS of that voting machine, through a detection mechanism that they put in that would give off alerts when fraud was detected.

Fast forward to now. People came out in the streets in large numbers maybe even millions all over the country in support of Guaido. The US and EU are simply providing international support to the PEOPLE of Venezuela.

But we should worry less about Venezuela and more about our country. This situation is fast coming to a close. When its over and the corruption investigations start you all better hope we (our leaders) are not involved in Odebrecht…

      • Karl Orndem
        January 28, 2019

not everyone you see in the streets support Guaido. many have also come out in large numbers to oppose this coup.

      • Sense out of nonsense
        January 28, 2019

Coup? Coup was what CHAVEZ attempted in 1992 leading tanks and military into the presidential palace killing several people in an attempt to take out the president.

Guaido assumes this position LEGALLY based on the VENEZUELAN CONSTITUTION. He is president of the national assembly and as such is constitutionally allowed to assume the position of interim president until elections can be called within 30 days.

In a few days there will be more protests. They would have probably killed this guy already if he didn’t have so much security.

As I said again, the Venezuelan situation is coming to a close. What we have to start worrying about is the corruption investigations that will follow. The Maduro regime is riddled with corruption and illicit activity.

Two nephews of the first lady are currently facing jail time in the united states for drug trafficking. There is a HUGE corruption scandal dealing with a company called Odebrecht with several people involved.

        You all…

@ Karl Orndem, Sir this is not about social justice or free and fair elections. This is about BIG OIL MONEY. This is about the power and influence and greed of the white international wealth controllers who represents half a % of world population. The goal is to claim the oil wealth of Venezuela. If it was about social justice these countries would be calling for the impeachment of Trump immediately. This is not about democracy. Trump lost the election by three million votes, but still became president. This is about oil money. China was ordered by the’ powers that be” to revalue its currency upwards. When they refuse a trade started .
Venezuela holds the largest heavy crude oil reserve in the world. Trump has contemplated sanctions and invasion, impact on gulf coast refineries and the USA economy would be catastrophic and desasterous . It would make the 1930 Depression look like a light morning breeze.
So regime change is his best option. Once again USA rogue politics.

      • Sense out of nonsense
        January 28, 2019

Stop with your lies. The american electoral system is a representative democracy and works based on the electoral college not the popular vote. Trump won the electoral college and as such won the election.

If in dominica the winning party won 11 seats but the opposition got more total votes because they won the more populated constituencies you would say that the government lost the election?

Stop being stupid please and stop spreading LIES.

      • Karl Orndem
        January 29, 2019

I never said anything about social justice. Venezuela holds the largest oil reserve in the world, and its sitting right in America’s back yard. Trump doesnt give 2 craps about sh*t hole countries of Latin America, he cant tell the difference between a Mexican and a Venezuelan if they both stood before him, they are all the same to him. I most definitely know its all about oil and other natural resources, in addition to having more control of the region in more ways than one. I definitely know.

Karl! Karl my boy, take a chill pill. You need to finish the statement you started when you said that “every country gets the government it deserves”. You need to conclude the saying with ” when the process of selecting that government is free and fair. You see Karl, when the people are allowed to freely choose their government is not the same as a government imposed on the people by whatever means, be it force of arms or theft and deceptions, over which the people had no say nor choice. Are you saying that black people deserved slavery?

Well elections that are not free and Fair should be condemned …,so Maduro has a chance to correct this, by promising the good people of Venezuela clean election soon.
My eyes are focused on this upcoming election in Dominica.
Remember we have not had a fair election since 2005!!!
