As some persons in the British Virgin Islands scurry to evacuate the territory following the destructive passing of Hurricane Irma, one commercial airline that usually services the territory has introduced a flight from Tortola to San Juan in Puerto Rico.
InterCaribean Airways introduced the flight, JY 932, this week and expects to commence as early as tomorrow, September 14.
The flight is expected to depart Tortola 9am and will arrive in San Juan by 9:40am.
“Flight is bookable via the website and via the agent community. Due to no power at the airport, we have no communications and therefore no ability to assist at the airport. InterCaribbean is an airline based in the Turks & Caicos islands. formerly known as Air Turks & Caicos but started life as Interisland Airways (2008). The aircraft in question (reg. Q-TDC) is a 25 year old, ex Delta EMB120 ER, 32 seat turboprop manufactured by Embraer in Brazil.
