Antigua Lower Chamber passes amendment to decriminalize ganja

The law will decriminalize small quantity of ganja

The Lower Chamber in Antigua has passed the amendment to the Misuse of Drugs Act, which according to the online news source, Antigua News Room will pave the way for the decriminalization of marijuana.

However, for it to become law the amendment has to be approved by the Upper Chamber and be gazetted.

If passed, the bill will allow Antiguans to have up to 15 grams of the weed and a household to possess up to four plants.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne said the amendment is not meant to encourage the use of ganja.

“We are not commercializing the sale of cannabis,” he said. “We do not condone the importation of marijuana at all.”

The Prime Minister said the main reason for passing the amendment is to prevent young users from getting a criminal record, according to Antigua News Room.

FINALLY COMMON SENSE! Marijuana laws are laws created by white men to criminalize black men. they do not arrest jail or imprison white men for marijuana only black men!! giving them criminal records. preventing them from being employable thus creating a involuntary criminal element and a correctional prison system to house an otherwise productive segment of the population.

One can make a tincture by soaking the herb in alcohol.
My dads portion we boiled in alcohol on a low fire until all the alcohol evaporated and then we used just a drop under his tongue at bedtime . that made him him sleep like a log. Many decisions have been made in the recent past in
defiance of this Anglo Saxon norms which is good . cannabiswise we need to formulate our own policy
We cannot continue to follow their rules hook line and sinker. Why can Americans plant the weed legally in America while the same America are funding a futile war against a natural plant.

Let us use the genius within to wake up to the reality of this great natural healing agent. In st Thomas we are advocating to.change all laws relating to the illegality of Ganga. The white world has embraced our culture to liberate themselves from slavery poverty and disease while the black man continues to jail it’s people for using a herb that heals glaucoma Epilepsy cancers tumors asthma colds catarrh stress just to name a few. Americnans are building schools and reorganizing their cities and are able to do that directly as a result of of the commercialization of Ganga. At a recent hearing here this respectable middle aged woman testified That she had some very amazing results using the oil of this natural wander. She then stated I am now a criminal because I am using an illegal substance now help me to become a law abiding person. Legalise it. I have used this herb many times to treat varying conditions even my dad used the oil to help him sleep. This is a good first step Mr…

The real deal Cannabis in Dominica saved my life several times. I juice it, make tea, mix it with Moringa which I call my M&M tea, add it to my Cacao tea, make powder with the leaves, make smoothies, and the long lists goes on and on. It heals diabetes, cure cancer, helped me get off my seizure medication. I don’t believe in smoking it, heating it up, however, I would not condemn anyone who does so. However, when ingested in its natural state without smoking, it works wonders. It most definitely HEALS!! Please stay away from the GMO Cannabis they sell in the US…California. That is laced with chemicals that make its users addicted. That is why they are legalizing it in many States in America as they can control the GMO version of it and make suckers out of those hooked on it for so called “medical reasons.”

Antigua is following suit on what is occurring in the US. However, the FDA still has cannabis classified as a class 1 drug, which is unsubstantiated. The govt. of DA makes a lot of money off of these offenders, so has very little incentive to deregulate it and make it legal.

My people of Dominica, how long do you want to punish our brothers and sisters for something given to us by God? We have aggressive drunks walking around, and the law seems to care less, but when a man smokes his joint and does nothing to harm the citizens or the environment, the law has a problem. How many more punishments do you people want from God? You make a plant given to us by our father illegal, you go ahead and destroy the island by your atempts at geothermal energy, you litter the rivers, you throw your plastic around in the streets, you curse your brothers and sisters, you judge them, you imprison them for an act of God, you get hit by Hurricane Maria, and you still do the same mistakes? You people are blind, and your eyes need to be opened. Change is a must, if not, there are more punishments by God to come.

Although I don’t accept that Dominica is being punished by God, I do agree with the rest of what you’ve said Yeshua haben Joseph. All this madness started with the beast “Invaders” who studied our people, stole from our people, gave us their food, their god, their fake money, mind-controlling religions….and the long list goes on and on. We all know that our people of African descendants are the first humans on this planet and we have something that they don’t have, but want. They will stop at nothing to destroy our people but they can’t unless we allow them. We as a people whether we are in Dominica, the US, Canada, UK, etc…need to unite and stop these beasts from destroying our planet. I AM so concerned about Dominica, especially when I heard that Prince Charles and Clinton visited. Dominica needs to WAKE UP! They want Dominica for their own selfish gains. Dominica is the last true nature island left in the Caribbean, a precious diamond in the rough. Treasure her!!!

What are you waiting for, Nature Island of Dominica!!
Follow the exemple ! Ganja is a healing herb and Gods creation!
At this time you have many other problem to solve and probably more to come…
Give Dominican the freedom and peace they deserve!!

But of course, that is the sensible thing to do. So many of Dominica’s people are sent to jail yearly just for some marijuana, and judges here say their hands are tied so they have to charge our youth and our people thousands of dollars and/or jail them. That’s so barbaric. Change that law Dominica, change it now!

  10. February 7, 2018

Seriously, there’s no more excuse for us to wait to take this obvious pro-freedom step forward.

  11. Sorry

Umm Dominica what’s the hold up??? Why we always have to be last
