La Plaine’s Nadura Prosper has been told that she is entitled to EC$100.00 worth of groceries from Brizee’s Mart each month for a year.
Prosper is the winner of that firm’s Mother of the Year sweepstakes, and is being recognized by the company as its 2012-2013 Mother of the year.
In addition to the free groceries, she can expect a complimentary drink whenever she visits Brizee’s Mart, as well as “gifts at special times of the year and other special privileges” according to a release from the business enterprise.
“Brizee’s Mart management and staff are thrilled to have Ms. Prosper win this promotion and eagerly anticipate serving her and all our valued customers in the years ahead,” the company said in its release.
Prosper was one of hundreds of mothers who participated in the Brizee’s Mart Mother of the Year sweepstake, which formed part of the Brizee’s Mart Mother’s Day celebration.
According to Brizee’s Mart, lucky mothers who shopped at the store on Saturday May 12, 2012, won gifts from a wide selection of gift items such as coupons, drinks and hampers and also got an opportunity to participate in the Brizee’s Mart “Mother of the Year Sweepstake”.
i know things are expensive but if she buy what most important that is one hole that close. i am sure she is greatful for that $100.Use it wisely
Some people will never appreciate anything. This was a very good things and I am sure the past recipients have enjoyed this. Continue doing a good job not matter what token of appreciation may be. Keep in mind that you are serving a nation of ungrateful people. God Bless.
BRIZEE’S MART IS ONLY PROMOTING THEMSELVES. TELL ME WHAT IS $100.00? THINGS BY BRIZEE’S MART IS ALREADY SO EXPENSIVE.THEY SHOULD OFFER THE MOTHER OF THE YEAR SOMETHING BETTER.
a lot of Dominicans can’t understand English
“entitled to $100 worth of groceries each month for a year” so it means she will receive $1200 worth of groceries for the year. Waw papa not just a $100 worth of groceries
or just give de woman all her groceries nuh, time you wink de food finish.when she buy’s snacks for her daughter it doh finish den, aa stupes, 100?
She could probably get a 10 pound bag of rice with that. I could be wrong.
This promotion lacks a reasonable sweepstake winning. While I’m happy for Ms Prosper, but the $100.00 giveaway is an insult to all the mothers who shop at this store on average twice a month.
Honoring a mother should be a remarkable and exemplary experience in her life, rather than a mere show of pretentious gratitude.
DEM PPL HAVE TO BE JOKING! WHAT 100 CAN BUY
@ so what
Be satisfied with what you have. It will help. Every little bit counts and this is not a little bit. It is $100.00. I am certain that she could spend it wisely and purchase just what is important.
What can a $100 buy you? Groceries for a day?
Congratulations, Mother. This topped a Mother’s Day gift. I certainly would like to win that $100 monthly for free groceries. This is a great help on the budget. Make the most of it nutritionally.
I`M HAPPY FOR HER.HALF A LOAF IS BETTER THAN NONE.BUT COME ONE, HOW MUCH CAN SHE BUY WITH A $100? FOR MOTHER OF THE YEAR U GUYS COULD GIVE HER $500 CUZ THINGS ARE EXPENSIVE
$6000.00 a year?youself mad man!!!! be reasonable.atleast $200.00 a month for the year plus the other prices
@ hurting
This is what was offered. This is what the owner probably could afford. Do you realize the cost of operating a business in general? It is a good gesture which no doubt the winner is elated about. I recently won $100 in a lottery. Whenever I win a few extra dollars I am happy. Occasionally I win some dollars in the lottery but not the jackpot. Two days ago I won $75.00 in an instant lottery. Today I won another $75.00. These were with one ticket. I am not always lucky. While I feel I would like to win much more as some others, I had to be satisfied. Guess what? I thank God for it. It came in handy.
I was happy to win that $100 then which helped me to purchase some extra items. We must be grateful people. Is there anyone who will give us that amount for nothing and without conditions attached? Think about that.
