Bertilia McKenzie was awarded for “demonstrating courage to overcome tough times”, among other things

Domlec’s very own General Manager Bertilia McKenzie on Sunday March 13th, 2016 was the recipient of the first ever :”Beyond Glass Ceiling Award”.  The award was presented at the ongoing Carilec conference for HR, PR and Customer Service under the theme , ” Engaged Employe, Engaged Customer”.

McKenzie was shocked at receiving the award but humbled that she was selected as the first recipient . This award was selected by the Carilec HR committee and is given to an individual who has demonstrated courage to overcome tough times and pursue their goals because they stand for what they believe in and one  who does not compromise their values of virtues.

McKenzie was described as someone who has the backbone and not just a wishbone, strength, a tenacious and conquering spirit who will not let obstacles distract her from the vision and personal mission.

We at Domlec salute you Mrs. McKenzie we are proud to have you as our GM and wish you God’s grace and blessings in all that you do.

Congratulations!

Congratulations Bertillia. Since you have taken over the rains of Domlec it run’s brilliantly. Would you consider becoming Prime Minister, Dominica needs a strong guidance? Very proud of you. Keep it up and maybe think of taking up politics?? We need a leader who fixes the island, especially with all the rain we are getting it is a very serious situation.

    Congratulations Madam

You have indeed broken the stereotypical view of women by taking on the challenge of General Manager of Domlec. I do not have the facts, but I suspect that you may be the first woman to hold that position in Dominica.

    Congratulations again!
